The intention of this meditation is to balance the flow of energy and release any blockages through the spleen and stomach meridian lines.
So take these first few moments to get comfortable.
Shuffling,
Wriggling,
Stretching.
Do what you need to find that comfortable position.
Then bring your attention to the motion of the breath.
Breathing in deep down into the lungs and flowing out.
Inhale nice and long and deep.
And exhale completely.
The breath expands through the ribs and softens the body.
You can feel this connection to your breath as a deep anchoring into your body.
The energy of the spleen and stomach meridian lines connect to the earth element.
They keep us grounded.
So notice your connection to the earth right now.
All the areas of your body that may be touching the ground.
Is it your feet and toes?
Your legs and sit bones?
Maybe it's the whole back of your body as you lay here.
And you can feel into those curves.
Naturally some areas touch the ground while others don't.
However you are positioned today,
Can you feel the weight of the ground beneath you?
Supporting you.
Supporting you now to your body in this moment right here.
The rest of your body feels light,
Expansive,
In a state of free flowing.
Your spine is long and open.
Your body feels ready to receive.
That outside environment may be supporting your body but you can create a feeling of openness and freedom within.
Then send your awareness down to your feet.
Our place that usually just connects to the ground.
And picture the energy of these meridian lines appearing on the medial aspect of your left big toe.
It begins to travel along the inside edge of your left foot.
Then it flows over the top of the ankle.
Up the inside of the leg.
This light,
This energy flows with ease and brings a sense of release as it travels up the top of the left thigh.
The left front of the body.
And all the way then to the left side of the chest.
With an inhale it appears at the start of the stomach meridian line,
Just underneath the left eye.
You watch it begin to flow down this line.
Down the front of the face.
Down the left side of the neck.
Down the chest.
To the middle of the abdomen.
Flowing without force,
Flowing freely.
It moves down the front of the left leg.
Down the left shin.
And all the way to the second toe.
If the light feels sticky,
Jumpy or blocked anywhere,
There is no need to worry,
No need to force it.
Just breathe deep and slow.
And see how this light in time continues its journey.
Once it reaches the left second toe,
With another inhale this energy shifts to the right spleen meridian line.
It begins to flow up the right side of the foot.
Over the top of the right ankle.
Up the inside of the right shin.
And up the front of the right thigh.
Floating up the right side of the body.
All the way to the top,
Before going to the right side of the chest.
Reaching the end of the spleen meridian line.
With the next inhale it travels up to the stomach on the right side,
Just below that right eye.
And then just as freely as it flowed up the body,
It begins to flow down the right face.
On the front of the right side of the neck.
And down the right side of the chest.
Down the middle of the abdomen.
And down the right thigh.
And down the right shin.
All the way to the second toe.
Maybe you feel the need to move while this light is flowing.
Maybe you feel the need to take some deeper breaths.
Like an exhale could help release any blockages.
Just be in your body.
Listen to what it needs.
Do whatever you feel called to,
To help this energy become free flowing.
Continue to watch this energy flow through these two meridian lines.
Going up the spleen meridian line.
And back down the stomach.
Notice the sensations that arise.
Watch them.
Feel them.
Feel them freely without fear or judgement.
There is no need to be worried about what is going on around you.
This is a time to be within.
The spleen and stomach meridian lines remind us to come back to a place within.
A place of balance and peace.
Overthinking,
Worrying brings this energy out of balance.
Too much mind and we begin to distrust a situation or feel hopeless and out of control.
When the concerns of others create disharmony within ourself,
Then the self esteem begins to suffer.
Other people try to tell us of our worthiness,
Distracting us from our true self.
But we always have this place within.
We always have control over our inside environment.
Always have control over our thoughts.
An abundance of thoughts may try to distract us from what is truly happening.
But returning to a place of balance allows us to be with what is.
To feel what truly is happening.
And then to find that truth within.
When we are grounded,
Centred,
The inside is unaffected by the outside.
We follow what brings us ease,
Joy and freedom just to be.
Allow this energy as it flows through these meridian lines to fill you with a sense of ease.
Then letting the light complete its circuit at the end of whatever stomach meridian line you may be on.
No need to force or rush it.
Just watch it make its way.
Then think of any area that the energy felt blocked.
Any regions that the light had trouble flowing.
Or any sensations that felt heavy or tense that came up.
Bringing one hand or your awareness to that area and bring the other hand to your forehead.
Watch this place,
Watch these sensations with a loving kindness.
Watch the sensations that may build up.
And see how they begin to move through you and to be released.
Deep inhale in.
Long complete exhale.
When you feel your body has balanced enough,
Releasing your hands,
Shifting your awareness and bringing the left hand to contact the right pulse points.
Then notice the quality of the middle pulse point on your right hand.
Notice its strength,
The beat,
The speed.
How does it feel beneath your fingertips?
Then bring your mind to your intention for this meditation.
The feelings you wish to balance.
An area or situation where you feel out of control or that you are unable to stop worrying about.
Maybe it's a sensation that you feel is connected to this overthinking mind.
See your intention,
Feel it in your body and bring your right hand to your forehead and watch how these emotions fill your body.
Allow your mind to wander.
Thinking,
Following all the stories and thoughts that come up with this situation.
Let the thoughts in.
Let the sensations in.
Let those feelings fill you.
And then with an exhale,
Let them leave.
Just as easily as they flowed in,
You can allow them to be released.
Notice any charge around the emotion beginning to fade.
Notice the balance,
The peace,
The ease.
Always ready to be returned to.
You can feel it returning now.
When you feel ready,
You can release both of your hands and continue to be aware of this ease within yourself.
This place of balance is our natural state.
We are innately calm,
Kind,
Peaceful,
Trusting.
We know that everything will always be okay.
We may have distractions or times of ups and downs,
But that's all the fun bit.
That's all part of the ride.
We always have an ability to return to balance,
To be grounded,
Connected to that inner truth.
Feel free to stay here for as long as you need,
Or in your own time,
Completing this meditation and returning to your day.
