Let's take the next five minutes to slow down and check in with yourself and see what you may be needing at this very moment.
Start by getting into a comfortable position,
Either sitting or lying down,
Making whatever adjustments you need,
And let your body ground into the support beneath you.
Take a few slow deep breaths in through your nose and out through your mouth.
You might want to place one hand on your heart and one hand on your belly,
Or simply let your hands rest in your lap.
Now turn your attention to your body,
Taking a slow scan from head to toe,
And note what parts of your body call to you.
Simply notice what you feel and what feels present and alive in this very moment.
Maybe there's tension or gripping sensation or rumble in your stomach.
Maybe you notice a feeling of tiredness or perhaps an urge to move.
See if you can just make space for whatever's there to show itself to you.
As you start to get a sense of what's happening in your system,
Ask yourself,
What do I need right now?
If you struggle to identify what you need,
Know that that's okay.
You might instead ask,
What would feel the most loving or nourishing for myself right now?
Notice what that's like to make space for whatever is present to just be there,
And to be checking in with your body system in this way,
Starting the process of tending to your needs.
Now ask yourself,
How can this need be met?
What might I need to do to tend to myself?
Maybe you need to get a drink of water or something to eat.
Maybe your body wants to lay down and take a longer rest.
Just trust whatever information your body gives you right now.
As you get ready to end this meditation and slowly start to orient yourself back into the space around you,
Take a moment to thank yourself for showing up for yourself and your needs.
See if you can allow some space in your day to tend to those needs once this meditation ends.
