My name is Dr.
Divi,
And today we're going to be doing an inner child meditation using somatic memory.
A little bit before I go into this meditation.
As most of us know,
We have trauma from childhood.
Our inner child experienced pain.
Experienced a wounding,
Experienced something.
And as a result of something occurring from mom,
Dad,
Caregivers,
Siblings,
Teachers,
Friends at school.
We interpreted that experience.
In a fear state.
And as a child,
The mind gets locked into one of four states.
Fight,
Flight,
Freeze,
Or fawn.
Fight is,
I'm angry,
This is wrong.
Flight is,
I'm going to run away.
I'm going to exit stage right.
Freezes shut down.
Bond is constantly taking care of everybody else,
People pleasing,
Making sure they're okay,
And forgetting about yourself.
And these aren't just states that occur in our mind,
But they're in our nervous system from those traumas,
And they typically occur in the body.
So often when I'm working with a client,
I will feel this in the client's body,
And I'm like,
Yeah,
I feel that too,
Because that's where it's stuck.
Now,
In this meditation,
We're going to be using that sensation in the body to help us go back to identify the origin.
And I want to tell you,
This is part one of how I teach inner child work,
But I hope you enjoy it.
Hope you share it with others.
Enjoy.
Once your eyes close.
Take a long breath in.
Take a slow breath out.
Take a deep breath in.
Take a quiet breath.
Let's just be here for a few minutes with your breath.
On the next breath.
Invite yourself into a beautiful,
Beautiful place in nature.
This might be a place you visit often.
Or a place from fairy tales.
The most important thing about the space.
Is a sense of safety and comfort.
Comfort and safety.
As you breathe.
Inhale and exhale.
Once you find that place,
Look around you.
What do you see?
What are the colors?
What to hear.
What do you smell?
In your safe and comfortable place.
As you breathe.
Once you sit in your safe and comfortable place.
First energy you might start to experience.
Is that of your wise guide.
Welcome them in.
Your mind might think you're making it up,
But you're not.
And just keep breathing.
Some of you will see them.
Others if you will hear them.
Most of you will know.
And sense.
This presence of love.
As you breathe.
Inhale and exhale.
After your wise guide,
You start to see the ancestral realm.
Again,
You don't need to know who's here.
Just welcome the energies in.
Of pure love.
Pure connection.
As you breathe.
And then welcome the energies of Archangel Realm.
Archangel Michael,
Raphael,
Buddha,
Sai Baba,
Whoever you believe in.
And breathe.
And then welcoming the Divine Mother.
She will look different for each of you.
For some of you,
It will be more Mother Mary-like.
Others of you more Kuan Yin or Kali,
Lakshmi,
Welcome her in.
Paisas.
Maybe you don't know who it is,
But the female energy of power and love and wisdom emerges.
As you breathe.
As we begin to approach inner child work through a somatic way.
Find the body part.
For which there is something tightened or held.
As an adult,
Whenever you're in a situation,
You're not quite sure what it is.
Go to that body part right now.
In this meditation.
See yourself.
See the body part.
Maybe it's the chest tightening or the stomach tightening.
Maybe it occurs when you're at work or with your partner.
Just see that for a few breaths.
As you inhale and exhale.
Valley rises and valley falls.
Now asking your guides,
Your angels,
Your divine support team.
Take me back five or 10 years.
Five or 10 years ago,
When did I feel this?
And just keep breathing.
Use the body part to take you back.
As you breathe.
You may begin to feel.
Yourself escorted back.
There you go.
You might sense or know.
Who you were with,
What was going on.
And just keep breathing.
You might be experiencing that tightness getting stronger.
Or maybe dissipating.
See yourself,
See the interaction,
See what you're experiencing in this vision.
Deep eyebrow.
On the next breath.
Ask your guides.
Let me go further five or 10 years back.
And show me what I need to see.
When did this happen before?
Do this a few times on your own.
Knowing or sensing.
Times before you had the same.
Somatic experience.
As you breathe.
Knowing you're supported.
And loved.
And God.
Deep,
High breath.
Now ask your guides,
Take me back to the very first time.
I can remember.
Feeling this.
Just go there,
What was happening?
What were you experiencing?
How old were you?
And just keep breathing.
Low,
Deep breath.
Now that you have found some of the rootings of the somatic pain.
From the inner child.
Look at that little girl or boy.
Bring in the goddesses,
Bring in the divine mother,
Bring in your guides.
Holding unconditional love for them.
Maybe dropping down to their eye level.
I'm loving that.
Holding that.
And being present.
Stay here for about 10,
20,
50 breaths.
Loving this child.
Holding space for them.
Feeling their pain.
And telling them you are there for them.
You will assist them.
You will help them.
After a few more breaths,
Take a moment to thank yourself.
Thank your gods,
Thank your angels.
Thank the Divine Mother.
Telling yourself you will come back here and continue to work with this little girl or boy.
And help them to release the story.
Now when you're ready.
Inviting yourself very slowly back into your adult body.
Wiggling your fingers,
Rolling your shoulders,
Stretching your arms.
And go to open your eyes.
