Sometimes,
Anxiety and stress can make us feel restless and as if we are free falling.
A quote I love is,
Worry is a misuse of creativity.
Our minds can make up the most interesting and catastrophic stories and scenarios.
And for this mindfulness exercise to soothe anxiety,
Let's use your creativity to visualize your perfect place of peace.
A place that you can mentally go that is calm,
Serene,
And entirely your own.
And by the end of this meditation,
Expect to feel deeply relaxed and peaceful.
Ready to feel serene?
Let's begin.
Take a rejuvenating breath in through your nose and then exhale out through your mouth.
Sign if you wish.
Breathing in a little deeper,
A little slower.
Settling into this serenity you are creating within.
And if you haven't already,
Softly close your eyes if that feels comfortable for you.
Because sometimes we can see even clearer when we close our eyes and go within.
Using your creative,
Wise mind,
Go ahead and see before you a place that automatically brings you calm.
This place can be either real or imaginary.
Like from a pleasant vacation or a place you wish to visit.
Or even a place from your imagination or fantasy.
A place that is safe,
Calm,
And effortlessly brings you peace to your body and mind.
And allowing your creative mind to naturally bring this peaceful place alive.
Noticing all the little and big details with all your senses.
I wonder what sights do you see in vivid detail?
What pleasant sounds do you hear?
Maybe the soothing sounds of the ocean,
The rustling wind through the leaves,
Or perhaps even your favorite song.
Anything is possible here in your perfect place of peace.
And I wonder what temperature it's like in here.
Is a warm sun embracing you?
Or are you indoors at the perfect,
Comfortable temperature for your body and mind?
And because this is your own creative place of serenity,
What soothing objects are around you that you can feel with your hands and melt away your stress?
Perhaps there's a fluffy comforter to wrap yourself in.
Or even a sweet,
Cuddly pet.
Or even a warm cup of your favorite beverage to hold in your hands.
And I invite you to take a deep breath in and notice what soothing smells fill your body and mind to drift even deeper into this sanctuary of peace.
Giving yourself permission to explore this beautiful place with all your senses.
Knowing that you can add anything else effortlessly and automatically to make this perfect place of peace even more comfortable.
And I'll give you some time to allow this peace to settle into your body and mind even more.
And the wonderful thing about this place you created is that it's so happy that you are here bringing it to life.
And you also hold the key to come in and out of this place anytime you wish.
If you could give this place a name,
What word or phrase best goes with this place?
Great.
And what does this key or all access pass to this place of peace look like for you?
Perfect.
And you know that this perfect place of peace is available anytime,
Anywhere for you to access this and decompress even on your easiest or hardest days.
All you have to do is take a deep breath in,
Close your eyes,
And silently say to yourself the name of this place of peace.
And then you can see yourself using your key to unlock your sanctuary within.
Knowing that you can let go and leave all your worries at that door and entrance and feel a deep calm and peace as you step into this place.
And since you created this place after all,
It can shift and change to fit your needs each and every day.
Like changing the season or adding your favorite comfort food.
Whatever you need to feel more deeply relaxed,
Calm,
And rejuvenated.
The choice is yours.
And you can stay as long as you wish in this perfect place of peace.
You hold the key after all.
And in a moment,
I'll invite you to say farewell to your place for now and open up your eyes.
Knowing you can always come back here either later today,
Tomorrow,
Or the next day.
See if you can take with you this pocket of peace with you throughout your day.
And thank you for taking the time to nourish yourself and just notice now how deeply calm you feel.
And whenever you're ready,
You can see yourself walking through that doorway.
Wiggling your hands and toes and stretching back into this present moment,
Opening your eyes,
Feeling alert,
Refreshed,
And deeply calm.
Enjoy the shift in your mind and body.
And I hope you have a wonderful day.
