This self-compassion practice awakens subconscious wisdom to guide you, motivate you, and coach you on your journey. It invites you to visit a younger version of yourself, connect with this younger self, and draw upon your inner resources to guide and advise your younger self, and as such, your inner child.

Sit in a comfortable position and you can feel your feet on the floor.

You can feel your body making contact with your chair or the couch or wherever you're sitting.

Become conscious of your breath without making any changes or alterations and connect with your breath.

Feel the sensation of the air entering your nose,

Filling up your lungs,

And slowly releasing your breath through your mouth.

We're going to go ahead and do that again,

Relaxing our shoulders.

You can stretch out your head and neck a bit.

Let your shoulders drop.

Let your hands become relaxed and loose.

Let your eyes relax and your cheeks relax.

You can bring a slight smile to your face,

Slight smile to your mouth and your eyes,

Continuing to connect with your breath.

Over the course of this practice at any point,

If you notice yourself getting distracted,

You can acknowledge it and you can gently return to the sound of my voice and the vision that is in your mind.

Connecting to the light,

The space,

Whatever you see between your eyes,

We're going to take a journey.

You're going to take a journey in your mind back in time.

Now we've been forward in time.

We've seen a big vision.

We've seen the fruition of your dreams.

And today our practice is about taking that energy of your future self,

Bringing the energy of your future self and traveling back to a time in the past where you may have needed some help.

This moment could be a recent moment,

Or it could be something that happened years back,

Or even in your childhood.

It's a time when you could have used some advice,

Some guidance,

And some support.

Now,

Whatever pops up,

Whatever vision pops up in your mind,

I want you to hone in on that and pause right there.

Notice where she's sitting,

This younger self.

Where she's sitting or standing.

Is she outside?

Is she inside?

What's around her?

You can notice the expression on her face,

How she's carrying her body,

How she's holding herself.

And as you're noticing,

Bringing all the confidence and all the reassurance that you have today,

Approach her gently and invite her to share what it is that she needs your help with.

We're going to pause right here and take a few breaths.

Just listen.

Listen to what she has to share with you.

It's possible that she may have a message for you,

A gift for you.

It's also possible that she needs your help.

Take a moment to ask her,

What is it that you need help with today?

We're going to pause,

Take that all in and offer her words of encouragement,

Words of support,

Any advice you think she could benefit from.

I'm going to pause right here for a minute so you can speak to her in silence.

All right.

And when you're ready,

You can wish her farewell.

You can thank her for anything that she shared with you.

Take a few more deep breaths.

And when you're ready,

Come back to the circle.
