Hello and welcome to this practice.
My name is Azriela Jankovic.
In this practice,
We are going to focus on cultivating self-compassion.
The great irony of personal development is that it only begins in fullness when we accept ourselves in fullness.
And that is what this practice is designed to assist with.
Begin by taking a few deep breaths,
Finding a comfortable position,
Sitting or lying down.
Take a moment to relax into your position,
Allow your body to retreat into simply being present and focused on breath.
RESPECT.
There is a beautiful idea that the infinite one sees us in our wholeness,
Just like a young baby,
Deep in sleep.
To emulate our ability to see this wholeness,
To open an awareness,
We are going to continue our breathing relaxed,
Sustained,
And imagine ourselves younger,
Much younger as children sleeping in bed.
Continuing to focus on the breath,
Envision yourself in the scene as a young,
Sleepy,
Small child.
Entering the room and seeing this young child,
What kind words could you offer to this being?
What words of encouragement could you give over to this small being?
What words of encouragement could you give over to this being?
What words of encouragement could you give over to this being?
What are the good points that you notice within this child?
What are the bad points that you notice within this child?
What are the bad points that you notice within this child?
And what does this child need to hear,
To be nurtured,
Cared for,
And acknowledged?
Spend a few moments here,
Offering only kindness,
Just for now.
Coming back to the present moment,
Perhaps stretching out your arms,
Legs,
Head,
And neck a bit,
Coming back to the here and now,
We can understand that it's easier to offer kindness to this young being.
We have so much perspective,
The perspective of time and space and wisdom,
And yet this child is within us in all moments.
This child is very much a part of our greater being.
In concluding this practice,
You may want to draw down a few notes by way of what you would say to this child.
These words of wisdom and compassion and awareness have tremendous power to nurture you right where you are here and now.
You might want to write them on a piece of paper and fold it up and keep it in your pocket.
Perhaps you want to tape it on your bathroom mirror so that every morning when you awaken,
You can speak these powerful mantras to yourself.
In fact,
These words of compassion are full of power and inspiration and fuel for your journey.
Thank you so much for joining me for this practice and I bless you with the continued ability to tap into the power of noticing and the power of self-compassion.
Thank you for listening.
