This is a brief grounding practice to release held tension through a body scan. Tightening and leaning into the tension to let it go, allowing ourselves to be heavy and open. This is a good practice to use on the go and integrate into daily life as needed.

Today we'll be doing a brief body scan to release tension.

Just finding a way to sit with a straight and upright back,

Breathing in and out through the nose until I tell you to hold the breath,

And then we'll be releasing through the mouth at the end.

So just sitting,

Starting at the top of the head,

Clenching the eyes,

Clenching the jaw,

Bringing the shoulders up to the ears,

Feeling the biceps,

The forearms tighten,

Clenching the fists,

Curling the toes,

Tightening the calves,

The thighs,

The hips,

Sucking in the belly,

Taking a deep breath into the chest and holding,

Breathing out through the mouth and letting go all at once.

One more time,

Squeezing the eyes closed,

Clenching the jaw,

Bringing the shoulders up to the ears,

Tightening the biceps,

The forearms,

Clenching the fists,

Curling the toes,

Tightening the calves,

The thighs,

The hips,

Sucking in the belly,

Tightening the chest and taking a deep breath in the hold,

And exhaling all at once,

Letting go,

Just feeling the weight of the body,

Just letting the tension wash over you.
