This is the meditation for stillness.
Get in a comfortable position and close your eyes.
Focus on the breath going in and out of your nose.
Allowing yourself to breathe in and breathe out.
Bringing yourself deeper into the experience of your breath.
Allowing any noises that you're hearing to be included into this meditation.
Not pushing them away,
But meeting them.
Breathing with them.
Allowing them to be there.
Allowing space to come around.
Focusing on allowing your breath to guide you.
And as you breathe in,
Imagine that this cool mist is coming into your nose.
And as you breathe out,
You see that same cool mist going back out into the space around you.
And even as you focus on the weight of your body,
Wherever you're sitting or lying down,
Noticing not just your body,
But the air around your body.
Breathing in that stillness.
Knowing that forever,
However many things are around you,
Notice that there are spaces around those things.
And as we realize that and notice that,
Things seem simpler.
You notice paths that you've never seen before.
Just by focusing your attention on the open spaces around you.
Now I'm imagining those spaces that are outside of you and around you.
Imagine there are spaces inside of you,
Inside of your mind that you can go to.
Imagine that space right now.
An empty space that's so inviting and serene inside of your mind.
And sit there for a moment and enjoy the stillness that is within you.
Look around that space in your mind.
Notice how it looks.
Notice the textures you feel.
Notice your breathing.
Notice the sounds or even noticing the silence.
And silence is just like space.
Even if there isn't complete silence,
There are silent moments,
However small,
In between words and sounds of all kinds.
It's the stops and the starts of sounds that give things rhythm.
Space is always there.
It takes noticing to experience it.
Breathing in and breathing out in this stillness.
Knowing that you can come back to this space in your mind at any time.
Just by noticing the space around you,
When you're awake and looking around,
You can remember you have a meditative stillness in your mind.
This is the end of the meditation.
