Prolog,
A walking meditation.
Katha,
The elements of earth and water.
Space lovingly held in the vessel of our beautiful bodies.
Katha,
The nurturer,
Sweet,
Gentle,
Loving beings who enjoy taking care of others.
But when neglecting self,
Kathas can become out of balance.
This can give way to feelings of heaviness,
Sluggishness,
Lethargy and depression.
In general,
Kathas would much rather curl up on the couch and take a nap or watch a movie.
He can help invite balance back into the body,
The mind and spirit by bringing some movement,
Mindfulness and mantra into a meditation practice.
A seated meditation can be achieved as well,
But for Kathas it might also invite more sluggishness and perhaps even invite sleep.
Whereas inviting movement,
Mindfulness and a mantra or affirmation into our meditation,
We invite balance,
Harmony and peace as well as keeping the mind engaged as to not drift off in slumber.
When walking in meditation,
We invite our beautiful selves to be of our environment,
Observing any sounds,
Sights and smells.
Perhaps you sense touch as well,
Just allowing yourself to have this delicious,
Mindful,
Sensorial experience without any attachment or judgment.
Inviting a mantra or affirmation offers support during your walk to help keep the mind from fluctuating in thoughts.
We can recite affirmations sending blessings of loving kindness and peace to all beings everywhere or recite any I am affirmation to yourself such as I am loving awareness or I am peace.
And if the mind begins to wander on your walk,
You just gently guide your awareness back to your mantra or affirmation.
Before you begin your mindful walking meditation,
Please make sure you dress comfortably,
Conducive to the environment and seasons where you live.
Humans generally don't like cold,
Damp weather,
So having enough layers and keeping the head,
Hands and feet warm are vital.
And please remember to take care of your feet.
Invite yourself to take a deep breath in.
Open the mouth,
Exhale with an audible sigh.
Let it all go.
Step your beautiful body out into the world.
Take in the nature around you and nurture the beingness of you as you enter your mindful walking meditation.
Peace and blessings on your journey.
