The Grief Journey There are seven stages of grief.
Grief is different for each and every person.
How we cope and move through the process is very different for each of us.
There is shock,
Denial,
Anger,
Depression and loneliness,
The upward turn,
Which is where we start to adjust to life a little more,
The reconstructing and working through,
And then there's acceptance and hope.
This meditation is here for you to help you through whatever process you are on in your journey.
Take a moment to settle in.
Invite your body into a comfortable position and give yourself a moment to allow for any last-minute movements to release from your body,
To settle into your space.
Sense and feel the weight of your body held by Mother Earth,
Grounded and supported.
Invite your outer eyes to gently close down or carry a soft gaze.
And as you come to settle in your space,
Invite a compassionate being to sit with you,
Whomever you feel connected to.
Jesus,
Buddha,
Mother Mary,
Goddess such as Quan Yin,
Or even the energy of someone close to you,
And know that you are not alone.
Begin to invite some deep breaths into your body.
Sense and feel nourishing,
Nurturing Earth energy rising up,
Filling you up on the inhale.
And as you exhale,
Releasing it all,
Letting it all go into the loving arms of Mother Earth.
Feel your breathing body in this space,
Safe and supported.
And gently allow for your breath to come back to its natural cadence,
Sensing and feeling the sensation of the breath as it flows in and out of the nostrils.
I invite you now to guide your awareness to your Sacred Heart Center.
And if you feel inclined,
Place your hands upon your heart.
Sense and feel your heart beating,
The power of love.
And breathe here for a moment into your heart.
Bathe in this loving energy.
And only if it feels right for you in this moment,
Allow yourself to feel whatever emotion is arising for you.
Sadness,
Pain,
Anxiety,
Fear,
Exhaustion,
Confusion and grief.
Can you gently invite yourself to hold space for these emotions?
Holding this emotion as if you are carrying or holding something fragile,
Precious.
And if it feels good for you,
Invite in the support,
The wisdom and the guidance,
The love of your compassionate being to sit with you.
Allow yourself to be held and comforted by your compassionate being.
Invite your awareness to your body.
Notice if there is a color surrounding you.
And what color,
If any,
Do you see?
Can you feel a sense of warmth or touch upon you?
Our human need is to be comforted and held.
Invite yourself to rest in this color,
This warmth,
This soothing touch.
You're welcome to hold yourself in a loving hug if that feels good for you.
Breathe in this loving space for a moment.
You are safe and supported.
You are cocooned in loving awareness.
Breathe in this loving space for a moment.
And when you feel ready,
Gently invite your awareness back.
Back into the space.
Sense and feel your body connected to Mother Earth.
Invite your awareness to any sounds near or far.
Invite a deep breath back into the body as you integrate back into your space.
And gently invite some gentle movement into your body.
Begin by wiggling your fingers and your toes.
And gently blink open your beautiful eyes.
I invite you to take this meditation with you throughout your day and return to it whenever you need comfort and support.
