Dear creative mind,
Welcome to this meditation to find your balance and restore inner calm.
Take a moment to find a position that would feel good for you today.
You can sit,
You can lie down,
Take your time getting there.
When you find that comfortable position,
You can bring the eyes to close if that would feel right for you or simply allow the gaze to soften.
Take a moment to let go of whatever happened before this moment and let go of whatever will or might happen next.
I'll invite you to bring your awareness to your breath,
To the rise and fall of your chest.
Go ahead now and take a deep inhale through the nose and a long exhale through the mouth.
Continue breathing at your own pace,
Feeling a gentle lift up through the front body as you inhale and grounding down the back body as you exhale.
Just allowing your breath to relax you and to bring you back into a balanced state.
Using the inhale to grow a little taller and the exhale to root you down to the ground.
And now I'll ask you that you imagine yourself walking barefooted on a beautiful beach.
You can feel the warmth of the sand beneath your feet,
The wind blowing in your hair,
The sun kissing your cheeks.
And as you look out at the ocean now,
You realize that you have the ability to control the tides.
You realize that this is your internal ocean of emotions and each wave is a feeling or an emotion present in your mind,
Body and heart in this very moment.
So take a moment to check in with yourself and with your ocean of emotions right now.
Can you feel a sensation in your body?
Can you feel its intensity?
Maybe you can name that feeling or that emotion.
You don't have to label it as good or bad,
Just observe it.
And now I want you to breathe in and imagine the wave of this emotion in your ocean.
Is it big or small?
How does it move?
Is there a message that's trying to communicate?
Be aware of it and with your next exhale,
Let it go.
Let this emotion know I'm okay feeling you.
Thank you for existing.
Thank you for your insights.
Often our emotions feel out of balance because we've been running away from them.
And when we allow our emotions to just be,
When we allow them to be seen and be heard and accepted,
They can flow out of us and we can return to a balanced state.
So by taking a moment to pause and check in with your ocean of emotions and breathe as you are doing now,
You open up the doors to allow your emotions to balance.
Whatever emotion comes up,
Once you accept it,
It is safe to subside.
And doing so allows you to experience more balance in all of your different emotions.
On your next breath,
Feel your stomach expand completely and hold your breath at the top.
And as you hold your breath,
Picture a very large wave come to a peak.
And as you exhale,
Let it crash.
And as it crashes,
Watch the water go back to a calm,
Still,
Peaceful state.
Let's do it again.
Breathe in completely.
Take a deep breath in.
Feel and visualize that emotion as a wave.
Hold your breath at the top.
Let it come to a peak.
And exhale.
Let it crash.
No emotion is useless.
And when you just welcome it in and accept it,
You allow yourself to ride it like a wave.
Whenever you're ready,
You can invite some movement back into the body,
Wiggling the fingers and the toes,
Maybe some light stretches.
And when you're ready,
You can open the eyes.
Thank you for sharing this time with me.
And if this meditation would be supportive to a creative friend of yours,
Feel free to share it.
Have a beautiful day.
