Making sure that you have your journal or a note taking app handy so that you can keep a record of your experience.

Breathing deeply and dropping down deeper into yourself.

Relaxing your body and letting any thoughts or tension just melt away.

Following your breath as you breathe in and out.

Bringing to mind the individual that you would like to forgive.

Invite the person in on a soul level and see them standing before you.

Even if the person is no longer in your life or has left the physical world knowing that on a soul level they are present here with you.

Allowing all of your feelings to come to the surface now.

Letting your body know that it's okay to feel whatever you might feel when you see this person.

Breathing deeply in and around those feelings.

Resisting any urges to diminish them or to push them away.

This is your opportunity to acknowledge everything that's within you.

Giving your thoughts a stage to be seen.

Particularly if these thoughts have been unacknowledged within you for some time.

Breathing into everything that's happening within you right now.

Remembering that you are safe.

It is okay to allow these thoughts and feelings to rise up inside of you.

And now it's time to find your voice and to share everything that you have wanted to say to this person.

Opening the floodgates and sharing everything that you have held back and more.

You may speak to this person in your mind directly from your heart or out aloud if you feel comfortable to do so.

Saying everything that you need to say now.

Whether or not this person understands your perspective or changes their behaviour is none of your concern.

Remembering that forgiveness is about restoring yourself so that you are no longer burdened by your relationship with this person.

Imagining now that your feet are planted firmly on the ground.

Feeling yourself being held by the earth underneath you.

And feeling a sense of security washing over you.

Reassuring yourself that no matter what happens,

Mother Earth is gently and lovingly holding you.

Feel yourself becoming stronger and more confident,

More secure within yourself.

Seeing the person before you.

Preparing yourself to find forgiveness for all that they have done to you.

Knowing that you can stand tall and strong.

That you will not lose any part of you by offering this person forgiveness.

Connecting in with your heart now.

Feeling your heart space open and fill with love.

This is the love that you hold for yourself.

Feeling it growing and overflowing.

As you allow this love to flow around your body,

You realise that you are no longer willing to hold on to the feelings and thoughts that you have carried with you in relation to this person.

Affirming to yourself now,

It's time to let this go so that I may be free.

And now saying to the person,

I forgive you so that I may be free.

I do not agree with what you have done,

But I accept it and let it go.

Feeling your body releasing anything that has been tied up with this person.

Letting go of any old energy or ties.

Releasing any old habits,

Stories or beliefs so that you are clear,

Open and free.

Realigning with your truth,

Becoming the person that you truly want to be.

Breathing deeply and exhaling as you let it all go.

Drawing your energy back into yourself now.

Letting this person go with love.

Using your breath to anchor yourself back into your body.

Feeling grounded and gently coming back,

Opening your eyes when you are ready.

Returning to your day.

Thank you for this beautiful meditation. I couldn’t help crying during it because the person needs forgiven is me. The person I have to let go is the “old me”. I have no idea I’ve been holding on the “old me” and wouldn’t let go. I cry for a very long time. But it’s a good start. Thank you.
