Here's a recording of an exercise that I teach together with Sarah Oben.
It's from the first session of my online journey called Radical Wholeness.
I hope you enjoy.
Today we're going to guide you on an experience to look at what really blocks us from experiencing wholeness in our lives and also how you can take your first steps in this journey.
It begins with listening.
Listening to the part of ourselves that we haven't been hearing or may be willing to hear.
You're going to be guided through a series of questions and I invite you to take a moment to listen.
Listen to what you hear inside of yourself and I invite you to listen differently than you normally would.
Listen with an honesty to yourself.
Listen deeply.
I like to say listen with your bones.
I want you to think about the things you tell yourself and the inner conversations you have about yourself and your life.
What do you tell yourself in the moments of success and in the moments of failure?
I know that in life sometimes things have been wonderful and good and sometimes things have been painful and difficult.
There have been things that work and things that don't work.
What are the things you wish would change and the things that you wish would stay the same?
I want you to think about the things you tell yourself in your positive experiences and the things you tell yourself in your negative experiences.
How do you hold yourself in the landscape of experiences of your life?
How does it make you feel?
What do you avoid or reject about yourself?
What do you reject about your life?
What are you hanging on to?
What are you afraid of?
Do you wake up to those fears?
What do you tell yourself when you feel like you've worked all day but haven't accomplished anything?
Do you ever feel alone?
Do you take care of others but not take care of yourself?
What do you say to yourself when you violate your own boundaries?
When you realize you allow others to take advantage of you?
When you judge yourself?
When you decide to make a change and then do nothing?
When you think to reach out for support and then stop yourself?
When you stay up late and look at the curated lives of others on your phone and you compare yourself?
When you realize that you're your own worst critic?
Listen to me.
When you've said all of the good things that you haven't been saying and you've said all of the bad things you haven't been saying,
What you'll find you've really been withholding from yourself is,
I love you.
What you've really been withholding from yourself is,
I love you.
When I saw that the number one thing blocking me was that I wasn't loving myself,
I realized something had to shift and I began my journey towards radical wholeness.
Radical wholeness is a program that I teach together with Sarah Obin and the Whole Hearted Communitykar películas.
