Becoming intimate with the present moment is a delightful pleasure. Here, I will teach you a simple method for doing this, which can be repeated anytime, anywhere, as often as you remember. [Photo by Caleb Jones on Unsplash]

Take a snapshot of your entire experience right now.

What is this present moment like?

What is this present moment like?

What is this present moment like?

When we ask this question,

We tend to immediately try to label certain objects in our experience.

When I say,

Take a snapshot,

I actually mean something else.

I mean to sample as vividly as you can the entirety of your experience in this present moment with no labeling,

No judging,

No describing.

You can do this as often as you like.

And when done correctly,

It can bring about the sensation of coming online.

It's as if we experience the present moment in high definition through whatever sense data is being reported to the mind at that time.

What is this present moment like?

What is this present moment like?

It may be that when you take this snapshot,

Some aspect of experience,

Or one of your senses seems to stand out,

Seems to be prominent.

Actually,

It's far more likely that your experience of any moment is some mixture of sense data.

See if you can open yourself up to all that's going on right now.

If there is thought content in the mind,

If there is thought content in the mind,

This is included.

If you experience a memory of a sound,

This really is not so different to observing a sound in the environment.

In this practice,

It doesn't matter what the source of the sense perception is,

It can be it,

Quote,

Internal or,

Quote,

External.

It all ends up in the mind anyway.

There's no need to force these snapshots to occur more frequently.

Set up a collaboration between what you call yourself and the present moment.

Indeed,

When we take this snapshot,

There is simply experience,

And without labelling,

Judging,

Or describing.

And without labelling,

Judging,

Or describing,

There can be no separation between yourself and your environment,

Nor between yourself and the contents of your mind.

Just experience.

So it's with a light intention that we can decide to playfully remember to take this snapshot of our entire experience and become intimate with the present moment,

Exactly as it is.

No labels,

No judgments,

No descriptions,

Just truth.
