Welcome to your little five-minute embodiment practice.
I'm going to start somewhere comfortable.
You can be seated or standing or lying down.
That's up to you.
Wherever you are,
Arrive fully in this moment.
So set aside any distractions,
Close the door,
Maybe light a candle,
Make this moment special.
And when you're ready,
Land,
Noticing the way that the floor feels below you.
Do a quick body scan,
Checking in with anywhere you're holding tension,
Anywhere that feels open,
And inviting your mind into the space of curiosity rather than judgment.
It's not always easy,
But just the invitation to focus in that direction of curiosity.
Let that be enough for now.
Coming towards your breath,
Begin to expand through your inhales,
Letting your fill and release.
And as you exhale,
Draw your belly button towards your spine.
Inhale,
Expand,
And exhale,
Hug it in.
Continuing with that depth of breath,
We'll begin.
You don't need to hold at all.
This ritual is your soft surrender,
The moment that your mind can stop managing,
And you can start trusting your body,
Your energy,
And things you can't see.
Place your hand over your womb or your belly.
Breathe in deep to this space.
Let it fill.
Let it expand.
And exhale with a hum or with a sigh.
You can say out loud or in your mind,
I am safe to let go.
I allow myself to trust the current of my life.
I am safe to let go.
I allow myself to trust the current of my life.
Feel where this lands in your body.
Is somewhere tingling or warm or cool?
Is somewhere gripping that's ready to release?
Breathe into that space specifically.
As you repeat either in your mind or out loud,
I release the pressure to get it right.
I am not here to be perfect.
I'm here to be,
To just exist.
I release the pressure to get it right.
I release the pressure to prove.
I'm not here to perfect.
I'm here to just be.
Let your body be still or maybe begin to sway.
Tune into the space of your heart.
Take a few breaths right there.
Ask your heart and ask your gut,
What am I gripping too tightly?
What am I gripping too tightly?
Maybe the answer comes now.
Maybe it comes in an hour or a week.
There's no need to force an answer,
And it might not come through your conscious mind.
It might come in a little sign from the universe,
In a feeling,
In an image.
For now,
Just hold on to that question.
And then you can ask,
Tuning back into your heart,
Tuning back into your gut,
What wants to flow through me?
What wants to flow through me?
Not from me and not with force.
Let that land breathe right there.
Right now,
You get to choose your rhythm.
And it's a rhythm you get to rock with,
Sway with,
Change with.
Control is a safety response.
Your power lives in presence,
Beyond that control.
You are ready to let that current carry you.
You can breathe here for as long as you need,
As long as you want.
And whenever you're ready,
You can start to deepen your breath again,
Come back into this moment,
Attuning to the feeling of the floor below you,
The air in the room,
Any noises you hear outside.
Place one hand on your heart if it's moved.
Just offer yourself a little moment of gratitude here for tuning in.
Take your time and come out of this as slowly as you need.
When you are ready to begin moving again,
Start with subtle movements,
Gentle movements,
And let it grow from there as you bring yourself back into this moment.
