Have you ever wondered why we do what we do?
Why do we meditate?
Why do we practice?
Why do we put our mindfulness in the forefront of our lives?
Is it to live a better life,
Or to find bliss?
I don't know.
Is it to find enlightenment?
It may or may not happen.
And if you're a new practitioner,
You may be discovering what mindfulness is about,
And only just beginning to notice where it is making an impact and a difference in your life.
And if you're a seasoned practitioner,
You may wonder periodically,
Why do I do what I do?
Why do I sit and practice daily?
Why do I operate from a place of presence in my daily life?
And there may be times when you can't find an answer.
And I get it,
It's completely normal.
Sometimes we just don't know,
Or we can't even find an answer.
But we trust.
We trust in our practice.
We trust in our presence.
And we trust our ability to just be with ourselves as we truly are,
Moment to moment,
Without grasping onto or pushing our experience away.
This will bring us to a new place,
One with a little more clarity,
And a new depth of presence,
A new perspective of the world,
And our relationship with it.
And these are good reasons.
We started meditating for different reasons,
Whether it was stress reduction,
Or to find a way onto a spiritual path.
And the path has twists and turns,
And here we are,
Right here.
And how amazing is that?
We continuously change and shift,
Our path turns here,
Halts there,
And we oftentimes don't see what guides us clearly,
Bringing us to the light.
Instead,
We see darkness and all the lessons presenting themselves.
So we do this to continue to grow,
To continue to learn about what our true nature is,
About where we are on this path,
And about what we have to offer the world.
Because we all have been born with a unique and amazing gift to be nurtured and shared.
So we meditate,
We learn,
We practice,
And then we shine our light and offer our gifts to the world,
So that others who may feel as though they're in the darkest depths of light,
May have a light sparked in them,
Lifting them up,
Moving them on their path.
We give this,
Our gift,
To the world,
And that is why we do what we do.
Namaste.
