Welcome to your meditation practice to help you transition from the workday into evening relaxation.

Find a comfortable position for your body.

You might sit on the floor or in a chair,

Maybe with a blanket or pillow under your sitting bones so your breath can move more freely.

As you're ready to settle,

Invite your body to relax,

Lengthening the sides of your body,

Softening your shoulders,

Neck,

And forehead.

Maybe inviting your eyes to close if that feels right to you.

No matter where you've been doing your work today,

Whether you've been in an office,

At home,

At another workspace,

Imagine that you are standing outside of the place where you live.

Begin to picture in your mind the outside of your house.

See the structure of the building,

The colors,

The shapes.

You might hear certain sounds outside,

Maybe cars nearby or people in the distance.

Imagine that just next to the door of your house there's a box there.

That box has four sides,

But it's open on the top,

Ready to collect and hold everything from your workday today.

Review your day and start to gather up all of your thoughts,

Emotions,

Stresses about the people you spoke with today.

Visualize yourself gathering all of these ideas together and then see yourself placing them in the box.

Next,

Start to recall all of the tasks you did today.

Mentally gathering everything that you did,

The projects you worked on,

The meetings you had,

All of the requests you fulfilled.

Collect everything that you did today and see yourself placing it all in the box.

Then bring to mind all of the tasks that went undone today,

The things that you didn't get to.

Start to gather up those things in your mind.

Maybe it's the things you'll do tomorrow or some other time when you have the time.

You'll gather them up and see yourself placing them in the box,

Letting this box be a holding place so that you don't need to take all of these things with you into your evening.

They will be waiting for you tomorrow when it's time to do your work again.

Notice the effects of consciously putting away your workday.

You might find a lingering element of the day that didn't quite make it into the box and that's okay.

You can put it there now.

Then take a moment to be with how you feel right now.

Acknowledging any shift physically,

Mentally,

Emotionally,

Energetically.

Any amount of freedom or peace that you may have gained.

When you feel ready,

Slowly open your eyes,

Gently move your body,

And mindfully transition into your relaxing evening.

Had a really, really bad day at my job today. It’s my 3rd day at this new place and it was just a crappy, no-good day. 😣 This guided meditation helped bring me back to β€œhome” reality & comfort (if that makes any sense, πŸ€”) Thank you
