Hi and welcome.
Take a moment to get comfortable.
You don't need to do anything special.
Just arrive here with yourself.
If you're listening to this maybe you've been feeling tired,
Stretched thin,
Or more reactive than normal.
Maybe you feel like you should be handling everything perfectly but really you're human and your nervous system,
Your body,
Is doing exactly what it's designed to do.
Your body has been holding a lot.
Long days of parenting,
Work,
Household responsibilities,
And all the unexpected moments that pop up.
Every decision,
Every interaction,
Every little stressor asks something of your nervous system.
And sometimes that builds up quietly until your body finally says,
I need a moment.
I need to reset.
All of those signs,
That irritability you notice,
The overwhelm you feel,
That instance where you snap at your child,
It's not you failing.
It's actually information.
Your body's telling you,
I need care.
I need attention.
I need some space to recalibrate.
So let's take a moment to honor that together.
Take a long slow breath in through your nose and out through your mouth.
Again,
Long slow inhale and long slow exhale.
Now bring your attention to your body and notice where you feel tension.
Maybe your jaw,
Your shoulders,
Your belly.
See if you can simply notice it.
You don't need to fix it or push it away.
Just observe it with curiosity and kindness.
Now let's acknowledge a truth together.
You've been doing your best.
Every day you're showing up for your family,
Even when it's hard,
When it's messy,
And when you feel drained and maxed out.
Your nervous system has been working non-stop to help you manage it all.
And now it's asking for something from you.
It's asking for permission to release what you've been carrying,
To let go of what's no longer serving you.
Think of one expectation you've been holding on to.
Maybe it's how quickly you should bounce back after having a new baby.
Maybe it's how calm you think you should be or how much you think you should get done in a day.
What you think your day or your life should look like as it compares to other people.
Go ahead and picture it in your mind.
Now let it go.
Imagine setting it down,
Watching it drift away and dissipate.
Breathing it out with your next exhale.
Take another slow breath in and out.
Reset doesn't happen all at once.
It's not a switch you can flip.
It's more like a gentle,
Moment-by-moment process.
And each small action you take matters.
Your nervous system recalibrates through simple,
Intentional acts.
Taking a deep breath in and out.
Choosing to pause and rest over endless productivity.
Setting one small boundary.
Moving your body gently,
Just enough to release tension.
Connecting with your child from a more grounded,
Calm place.
Saying no to what drains you.
You don't have to do everything all at once.
Just pick one thing,
One small way to honor yourself and your nervous system.
And when your kids see you slowing down and noticing your feelings,
Setting boundaries,
They learn that it's safe for them to do the same.
You are teaching them self-care,
Emotional awareness and resilience.
Not just through your words but through your example.
I invite you to choose one small reset action for today.
And whenever you choose,
Trust that it's enough.
Every intentional breath,
Every gentle pause and every mindful action matters.
Let's take one more deep breath together.
In and out.
Then bring your awareness back to your body.
Feeling your feet on the floor,
The gentle rise and fall of your chest,
The internal space you've created for yourself.
Thank you for taking this time,
For showing up,
For being present for yourself and for your kids.
When you're ready,
Slowly open your eyes,
Stretch your body and bring this sense of calm presence with you into the rest of your day.
