Sit or lie down in a comfortable position.

Close your eyes if you feel comfortable doing so and take a moment to settle into your space.

Take a deep breath in through your nose for a count of four.

Hold the breath for a count of two.

Exhale slowly through your mouth for a count of six.

We will repeat this breathing cycle six times.

Allow your breathing to return to its natural rhythm.

Feel the support of the surface beneath you.

Imagine roots growing from the soles of your feet or your body into the ground,

Anchoring you securely.

As you breathe in,

Picture these roots drawing in calm energy from the earth.

Bring your attention to your feet.

Notice any sensations or tension.

Breathe into your feet,

Allowing them to relax.

Move your focus up to your lower back and breathe into this area,

Dissolving any tightness.

Bringing awareness to your shoulders,

Breathe deeply and let go of any discomfort.

Notice your jawline.

Inhale deeply and exhale all the tension,

Softening the jaw.

Silently repeat to yourself,

I am safe.

I am calm.

This moment will pass.

Repeat this affirmation three times,

Allowing its soothing words to settle into your mind.

I am safe.

I am calm.

This moment will pass.

Slowly wiggle your fingers and toes and slowly open your eyes when you feel ready.

Take a moment to notice how you feel,

Carrying with you a sense of calm and grounding.
