In our session today, we are taking a few minutes to introduce ourselves to a state of calm by using intentional movement, an invitation to go slow and be mindful with our body and breath. Maybe, today, you just need a few minutes to catch your breath and give yourself the gift of relaxation.

Welcome to your session today.

Today is all about relaxing the mind,

So I encourage you to get really nice and comfortable with your body.

If you can,

Sit in a position where you can recline a little bit.

Maybe that's on the couch or against the wall,

Legs outstretched,

And we're going to incorporate a little bit of movement,

Very mindful,

Slow movement into your session today.

As you close the windows of your eyes,

I invite you to lift your right palm up.

As you do so,

Taking the index and middle finger of your left hand and starting very slowly to draw circles in your right palm,

Over and over,

Creating this moment of connection and relaxation.

If at any time you grow distracted by thought or by sound,

Just bring your awareness back to that connection point,

Fingers tracing a circle,

Continuous,

Mindful,

Intentional movement as you breathe.

As your body grows heavy,

As the light behind your eyes grows dark,

As you start to set a little in and relax,

There's nothing else that demands your attention right now.

Just being here quietly,

Relaxing and melting down into your body.

When you arrived to this session,

You likely had a whole laundry list of things on your mind.

Maybe there were emotions at play or conversations were playing over and over in your ears,

On your heart.

Now is an opportunity to reconnect with the self and little by little,

Circle by circle,

We melt down,

We breathe and we relax.

Sometimes all we need is five minutes to just decompress,

To recalibrate,

To refresh and renew.

Sometimes we need a little bit more.

So if you need to repeat this session over and over,

That's okay.

You take as much time as you need,

Drawing those circles little by little,

Mindfully and slowly in your right palm.

You might notice your breathing starts to slow down and match the pace at which you draw those circles.

You might notice the world around you starts to feel like it's going a little bit slower.

All of that is because you are sitting here mindfully,

Taking space,

Being quiet and going slow.

Breathing in and breathing out,

Slowing down the pace of your circles.

And when it feels right to you,

Bringing them to stillness.

Fingertips just lightly touching your right palm and sending yourself some gratitude today for showing up here and recognizing that you needed a moment to relax.

Big breath into the belly,

Out through the nose.

And when it feels right to you,

Allowing the windows of your eyes to come back open into the present moment,

Feeling relaxed,

Refreshed and ready to take on the day.

Thank you for this moment of slowness, so needed 🥰 I did find drawing circles on my palm overstimulating and distractibg, so switched to the back of my hand which was better. Really liked having the mindful movement to help connect and ground 💚

Thank you so much for that strategy to return to the present moment and calm settling. 🙏🏽
