Welcome to your session today.
Today is all about easing into a space of calm.
Of finding it within,
Of anchoring down into the breath and letting your body melt down into this space.
So if it is available to you,
I invite you to lie down for this session today.
Get cozy with a warm blanket.
Pull it up right up to your chin.
Tuck it in down the sides if that speaks to you and really wrap yourself up in a cocoon of warmth.
Easing into a space of calm while we are meaning making machines while our brains are going a mile a minute,
Making connections,
Jumping to conclusions.
A space of calm can be something that is far-fetched and difficult.
But today as we wrap up,
As we melt down,
As we close the windows of the eyes,
Place our hands wherever they naturally go.
We start entering into this space of calm by sending the breath all the way down.
With each inhalation,
We explore the space of the body and we invite it to melt down.
Breathing down into your feet,
Letting them know that their job for today is done.
They can rest now and they can melt down into this space.
Concentrating today on the contact that the back of your body makes with the surface that is supporting you today.
The backs of your calves breathing into that space,
Giving your calves permission to melt down,
To ease into a space of calm.
Breathing into the space of the hamstrings,
Letting them grow soft,
Letting them grow heavy and asking them too to melt down into this space.
Breathing into the space of the hips and the glutes,
The small of your back,
And all of the muscles supported by your spine.
Your entire back body is invited today to melt down and ease into calm.
Letting your shoulders sink down into the space and taking a moment here to check in with your mind.
As you have invited the back of your body to ease into calm,
Let's now invite the mind to grow quiet,
To be gentle with the thoughts that will eventually come.
Invite the space behind your eyes to grow dark.
Invite your ears to go quiet.
And we invite the entire body to enter into this space of calm,
One breath at a time.
Gently and softly.
Today the invitation is of ease and calm.
And if you can extend this practice far beyond these boundaries,
Far beyond these minutes we share together,
I invite you to do that.
Carry this moment of calm with you throughout your day,
Throughout your week,
And know that it is always here to support you when you need it.
Simply by anchoring down into the body,
Breathing into the connection where we are supported,
Where we are held gently,
Softly,
And compassionately,
When you're ready,
You're welcome to open the windows of your eyes.
And I wish you the most blissful,
Calm-filled day.
