Spiritual But Not Authentic

Today Cosmic talks about Spirituality that lacks authenticity. Sometimes, we could be following Spiritual trends but not feel genuine happiness or feel our authenticity. We may be following what we think is spiritual but isn't clear what being Spiritual is about. To be Cosmic, being Spiritual is about Genuine Self-Love.

Namaste my brothers and sisters.

I'd like to welcome you to another talk with Simply Cosmic.

In the moment we are in H-Town,

Houston,

Texas.

We are here in the bird,

Nice windy day in the early summer.

Today we want to bring a topic that is more of an intermediate practitioner practice.

But at the end,

It's really,

Everything is all one lesson.

We want to speak in a more universal language.

But in a language that the mind can comprehend,

This would be more of an intermediate to advanced level.

Because after a while that you have practiced,

Meditation has become open to different philosophies.

Now what?

Today's topic,

Spirituality without authenticity.

What does that mean?

What is that like?

Because the reason why we are bringing this topic,

Spirituality that's missing authenticity,

Is because what version of spirituality that you practice doesn't bring you joy?

Think about that.

You can be doing a meditation practice,

Doing yoga,

But deep inside you're still not feeling happy.

You're not feeling fulfilled.

You feel like you fit in to this thing called the spirituality ego.

But it's missing the feeling love,

It's missing authenticity.

There is so much of it out there.

There's so much inauthenticity out there because people make money from yoga classes,

People make money from their spiritual ego.

This is just part of the truth of the human life that there's going to be a lot of ego.

But the one that the authentic people and genuine people,

There's going to be few.

There's going to be so few brothers and sisters who serve from their heart,

Who have a good balance of serving from their heart,

Getting money.

Because oftentimes we get corrupted by the greed,

By looking for validation,

By doing what a yoga teacher or spiritual teacher should act like.

But we're missing this thing called being ourselves authenticity.

And in the beginning when cosmic was exploring spirituality,

Religion,

Philosophy,

He just dipped his toe into everything to see what it was.

Went to ecstatic dance,

Explored Zen Buddhism,

The Baha'i Faith,

Explored Catholicism,

Christianity,

Learned about new thought,

The law of attraction.

You know,

Read some many,

Would study one year on each teacher like Thich Nhat Hanh,

Abraham Hicks,

Michael Beckwith,

The Secret,

Went more heavily towards the practice of Buddhism because it was practical.

And there was a lot of,

It's something that I could experience.

But before getting to that point,

Cosmic had to go to places like Burning Man,

Different spiritual events to find out,

To try to fit in to spirituality.

Is it about plant medicines?

Is it about smoking weed?

Oftentimes we get lost in doing what is spiritual,

But we forget to ask,

What is spiritual?

So I mean,

In the beginning cosmic didn't know what the heck being spiritual was.

You know,

We just thought that being spiritual in the beginning was about meditation.

Being spiritual was about aligning your chakras,

About listening to binaural beats,

Reading a lot of spiritual books,

Smoking weed,

And doing all these things that we think is spiritual,

But never asking,

Never defining in our own heart.

What is spiritual?

Currently cosmic has arrived at the truth that being spiritual is just genuinely loving his damn self.

We say damn,

A lot of people may get pissed off about saying,

Don't damn yourself,

No,

No,

No,

It's not the word,

It's the energy.

When we say we have arrived at genuinely loving our damn self,

It's because it's balanced effort.

Because loving our self requires effort,

Some days we don't.

Some days we complain a lot,

We're in our damn heads.

Because when we find out who we are,

And people judge it and we change,

It means we don't truly know who we are.

When we find out who we are,

When people judge it,

We stay the same,

And we choose to grow on our own will.

But when we change from people's judgment,

We have to use our discernment.

Maybe they're giving us clues,

But it has to come from us sticking to it for a while.

So for example,

In the beginning times of testing this spiritual,

What is being spiritual,

We experiment,

Is it lighting sage and clearing our energy.

So we have to experiment what being spiritual is about in our own way.

Maybe we think being spiritual is not shaving our facial hair.

Well as we grow our facial hair,

We start asking,

Do I need facial hair to be spiritual?

So we grow and try.

Maybe we think being spiritual is about letting our hair grow long.

And then maybe we think being spiritual is about growing our hair long,

And then getting dreads after that,

Which is what cosmic did.

And then maybe we thought being spiritual was shaving our head bald after growing hair long,

Dreading up,

Going bald.

But what have we arrived yet again?

Being spiritual is something that you define.

But the one thing that cosmic finds true to himself,

Is that being spiritual is authentically following your heart,

No matter what anyone else says.

Basically doing you that may people will judge you when you make the change,

But you do it from your heart,

That's why you stick to it.

So when cosmic started growing his hair,

His parents judge him,

Cut your hair,

You look like a mess.

And so cosmic noticed his ego judging himself.

But the thing that kept cosmic going forward is his authentic desire to follow his heart,

Rather than the noise and the following the ego,

The head.

Because if your heart says do something,

It's from your heart,

The ego has conditions,

The ego doubts,

Fears,

Worries,

But the heart wants to keep expanding,

Has no limitation.

The heart keeps shining,

The heart keeps evolving.

The head takes a safe route,

Don't want to be embarrassed,

Don't take any risk.

Being spiritual without authenticity to cosmic is not being spiritual.

But before arriving at this truth,

We have to start somewhere.

But today's main point about being spiritually authentic,

Is that in the beginning when we have our spiritual practice,

We follow the trends of spirituality,

But do not feel authentic,

Genuine love for ourselves.

We help other people,

But we have not helped ourselves yet,

Because we forget that authenticity has to start from within.

That before we can help others,

We have to learn to help ourselves first.

And before we arrive at that truth,

It's a journey to arrive at spiritual maturity.

And when we talk about spiritual authenticity,

We mature towards that path,

Because like children or teenagers,

When they're not mature yet,

They're going to be doing things that are more silly,

Or what people would say teenagers do,

Or what we say that we did that was immature.

Well,

In spirituality,

As we begin to know our foundation,

We start to solidify and get solid with our key foundation,

And we start to add the dressing,

The garnish,

And then the icing on top,

Then the cherry on top,

And then the sprinkles.

It's the detail,

Because authentic,

Genuine people are naturally spiritual.

Like being spiritual is more about genuine and authentic people,

Than the actual word itself.

People who live from their heart,

People who live from love,

But not like positive vibes only,

They understand that they're positive,

Because they've been suffering before,

Which is compassion,

Understanding other suffering,

Because you have experienced suffering too.

So today,

Be aware of our practice as practitioners,

As explorers,

As meditators.

When we meditate,

Do we feel genuine love?

Do we feel authentic?

Or are we just following spiritual trends of doing yoga,

Sound healing,

Because that's what we think spiritual people would do.

Know what feels right,

Rather than what you think is spiritual,

Because you can have dreads,

You can wear yoga pants,

You can know about plant medicine,

But you're still missing genuine love in your heart.

And sometimes we think we're doing genuine things,

But we don't actually feel the genuine love in our heart.

The only person that can know is ourselves,

That we can do this virtue signaling of what spiritual people should think,

But we're missing the feeling of love.

So today,

Check your spiritual ego.

Do we play the role of spiritual?

Or do we feel genuine love in our heart?

Do we act more spiritual?

Or do we feel authenticity in our heart?
