Namaste my brothers and sisters.

I am your brother Simply Cosmic in a moment in H-Town Houston,

Texas at the temple coming to you with another talk.

Today we're going to talk about what a lot of brothers and sisters ask me online if they're meditating correctly.

You know I'm so honored to be able to assist people in their spiritual awakening and journey and a part of the message I spread is about loving your damn self.

We used the word your damn self not because we want to damn ourselves but because it's about believing it's the energy of masculine energy.

Our firmness in our practice that helps us focus because when we just say love yourself some people just do not resonate with that especially men because sometimes they need a more masculine message love your damn self man.

As brothers and sisters learn to love themselves they ask me how?

I teach them the practice of gratitude the practice of being in the present moment and living more in the now and getting out of their head which leads us to meditation.

As we learn about meditation we learn some techniques.

Sit comfortably put your hands in your lap you can use music or no music set the timer focus on your breath breathing in and out and they learn the basics of meditation to follow the breath in and slowly breathing out relaxing your body but be in the moment you're not here to escape you're here to notice the sounds around the bird sounds by voice the white noise.

And so they leave the stream after a week or two or some time they come back with say I cannot meditate I have failed I just feel it's so hard and I'm telling you and then I tell them maybe you're not sure what meditation really is so I usually I show them the definition what before I even teach them I teach them that meditation is about noticing things in a moment not questioning them not analyzing just noticing and being the observer because most people who have a hard time meditating like maybe you have a hard time meditating it's not that you have a hard time is your mind has a hard time meditating meditation allows us to notice that we're not the mind by observing the mind and noticing the mind oh my mind is complaining I'm good I'm just observing maybe your body feels anxious ah my body is not me I am beyond the body and mind so that's why a lot of brothers report back with quote failed meditation attempts or unpleasant meditation attempts and I'm here to let you guys know that not every meditative session is going to be deep and peaceful because life is not a flat line a plateau it's not a table top where you're just life is straight line of life is dynamic some days you're moving up and you're moving up and then there will be days that you're down those are the days that will test if you're learning to use meditation or is your practice only good when your mind is good right some days your mind will have issues maybe you're losing your job you have money issues relationship issues the meditation helps you realize that there's a dimension of you the observer here that's beyond the issues and that it's okay that your mind is feeling bad that your mind is feeling negativity because sometimes you can be so attached to meditating and feeling good and clear and a lot of people sit in meditation or to achieve peace which is beautiful but what about on the days that you have a hard time experiencing peace that's when the meditation becomes not as as peaceful right that's when the meditation becomes less pleasant or unpleasant so today when you're in your meditation maybe you have anxiety maybe you experience loneliness the lack of love a little depression because you haven't seen many people from because the covid and the weather the ice whatever it is you may be feeling anxious your energy ungrounded notice that is your body your mind and even your energetic body can be ungrounded sometimes but you are not all of those things you'll be on because an energetic body is still a mental concept when we let go of all concepts all views we notice that the mind has it but we have no views as the observer today being your observer self the no self and even the no self is the concept of the self so this and i hope you have a wonderful day now if you enjoyed this talk consider following me as a teacher on insight timer or consider donating if you feel the value of the talk and please give me some feedback on what topics you have heard about i've been a practitioner heavily for the past six years but nine years since my awakening i was raised as a buddhist but it's more been more serious the past nine more six five six years more committed committed but of course all i'm here to do is help people connect with themselves and love themselves and i hope you have a wonderful day thank you so much

A necessary reminder…’Love yo damn self, man’ ! Recently returned to ‘on-call’ work, after retirement and feeling my whole meditation practice falling apart. With stress and lack of sleep I am finding meditation so difficult…unable to maintain focus in meditation. I’ve meditated very well in moments of piece and calm and not at all in stressful times. So here I am, having not been feeling good about my meditation abilities lately and ‘not loving myself’ in this battle with the monkey mind. This made me smile and that’s a great start. Bookmarked and added to a folder. Thank you.
