This breathwork exercise, known as Alkaline Breathwork has been scientifically studied and proven to boost immunity, increase focus, relax the mind, ease anxiety and fear, and improve athletic performance. Follow along for simple and direct instructions to either add to your wellness routine or introduce you to conscious breathing.

Transcript

Welcome everybody to immune boosting breath work.

Before we get started I invite you to lie down in a comfortable position or to sit upright with your legs crossed and your back straight.

During this exercise we'll be doing 50 deep breaths in through the mouth and released through the mouth.

Don't push the air out.

From there we'll do one full exhale breathing all of the air out and we'll hold the breath for one minute.

Then we'll take one big inhale through the nose filling the belly,

The chest,

And the head.

From here we will squeeze the abs,

The fist,

The arms,

And the mudra bandha for 10 seconds.

We will then release the squeeze and continue to hold the breath for 45 seconds.

And then slowly release the breath through the nose.

If you're confused don't worry.

I'll be guiding you through the entire process.

If at any time you want to hold your breath longer during the retentions feel free to pause the video and do so and then continue on where you left off.

With that being said let's take a couple of deep breaths before we get started.

All of the breath comes out.

And hold the breath.

And connect.

Connect with your heartbeat.

Connect with your body.

In complete stillness.

You can do more than you think you can.

You can push past your discomfort.

Big inhale through the nose.

Squeeze the Moolabanda.

Squeeze your abs.

Squeeze your fist.

Squeeze,

Squeeze,

Squeeze.

Release the squeeze and hold the breath.

Continue holding the breath.

Find stillness here.

Release the breath through the nose.

Push yourself farther than the mind thinks it can go.
