Welcome to the first eclipse portal of the year.
The job of eclipse season acts like a backward motion of a swing,
Symbolizing the need to pause and pull you back.
In order to help you push forward,
Your job is to find peace in the pause,
To lean all the way back,
And to trust that it's helping you reach wherever it is you want to go.

We begin by sitting in a cross-legged position as you lift your crown to the sky.
Seeing yourself connected between the Earth and the approaching eclipse,
Close your eyes and take a deep inhale through the nose,
And exhale,
Becoming aware of the hold gravity has over you,
Allowing yourself to be anchored by it.
To this present moment,
Feel the satisfaction of a full belly as you breathe in.
Feel a release of energy inside as you breathe out.
We shift our focus together here as you begin to sense the energy of a lunar eclipse,
Noticing the powerful energy it creates just by simply existing.
Your body relaxes a little more still as your breath finds a gentle natural rhythm of its own.
An eclipse portal is much like a swing,
Requiring us to move backward in order to propel ourselves forward.
To gain forward momentum,
To soar into new heights,
You must first lean all the way back,
Pulling away from your intended direction,
All while trusting that while it may feel counterproductive,
The backward swing is essential for reaching wherever it is you want to go.
Take a deep breath in,
And release as you let it all go.
Feel the way your body settles back into comfort,
So naturally.
I invite you here to repeat a few eclipse season affirmations after me,
Either out loud or in your head.
I trust the backward swing of eclipse season.
I am open to the lessons this time in my life will offer me.
I trust that each one will propel me forward.
I can lean into each backward moment with trust.
I easily embrace the rhythm and flow of the universe.

Eclipse season brings moments when it feels like you are retreating,
Or facing setbacks.
And it is in these moments where I hope you remember the swing.
How the backward motion is entirely necessary,
Allowing us to gather strength,
To reassess the past,
And to prepare for the forward surge that always follows.

And exhale as you feel the energy release from you.
Let these affirmations be your guide.
May this season bring you abundant growth.
Trust the backward swing.
And most of all,
Trust in your own ability to remain steady the whole way through.
