Deal With A Big Emotion

f you feel emotionally charged, this is for you. Instead of letting a big emotion lead you into misalignment or an inner negative spiral, acknowledge it first. You’ll get to feel more spacious in your body and distance yourself from the emotion so that you can see from the eyes of your Highest Self.

And let your shoulders drop and let yourself be with that emotion.

Even if you did earlier today,

There's something here.

And just breathe.

Try to lengthen your breath and relax a little bit more.

Relax your facial muscles.

Try your best to focus on your exhale.

That way your conscious mind isn't overthinking.

It only gets to focus on one thing.

The exhale.

And there's still the feeling.

So keep breathing,

Focusing on the exhale.

And allow the body to receive the emotion.

Like if the body was a colander for pasta,

You're receiving the pasta,

You're receiving that emotion.

So you're not letting the mind create stories about what it means or what it is.

You're just allowing your human to feel.

And notice where that is landing physically.

Scan your body and let yourself trust that you know where that is.

There's a stuck place in your body.

Tune into where that is.

Continue breathing and focusing on your exhale.

And from here,

Notice that shape of the thing that you're feeling,

The stagnant area of your body,

Where you received the emotion.

Notice if the emotion has a shape or a color.

Does it move or is it stuck there?

Is it 3D,

1D,

2D?

It's almost like we're looking at this with the eyes of curiosity.

Not judgment or blame,

Or it shouldn't be there.

Rather,

It's just what it is.

And the more you give attention and loving awareness to the shape,

The more it responds to you.

Notice how.

Soften your body.

Try to breathe longer,

Deeper breaths.

Now bring the breath to the area of the body where you find that shape,

The emotion.

And imagine that there are lungs there receiving the breath.

Expanding.

And then when it contracts,

It releases toxins.

It releases part of what you don't need anymore in that area of the body.

Experience this spaciousness.

Keep breathing.

So wherever in your body you were feeling a little stuck or emotionally charged,

Notice how by softening the outer edges of your body and sending breath there,

Witnessing the thing,

That it's taking less and less space in your body now.

Imagine now that this area of the body that was emotionally charged,

That is surrounded by love,

Using the breath,

Using your mind,

Really allowing a vision of sweet,

Sweet love in that area of the body.

Holding you.

Holding that part of you.

Yeah,

Beautiful.

Take another deep breath into that area.

Feel expansive from within.

And exhale with a sigh.

Feel the feet as you do that.

Maybe wiggle the toes.

Maybe palms face down.

Rub the thighs.

Or another part of your body to awaken the physical body and the presence of the now.

Tune into how you feel now.

Notice the distance between the outer edge of your body and the inner edge of your body.

Notice the emotion that was overtaking.

And you.

When you're ready to get into your body a little bit more,

You can lift the crown of the head up.

Lengthen the spine.

Roll the shoulders up to the ears and draw them back down.

With loving awareness,

Open the eyes.
