Welcome to this end of day reflection.

The intention setting practice we did earlier is paired with an end of day reflection or dedication.

Think of this as taking stock at the end of the day.

At the end of the day,

We remind ourselves of the intentions we set in the morning,

Reflecting on our experience and finding joy in what we have achieved.

It gives us another opportunity to connect with our values,

Goals,

And aspirations as we end each day.

When you're winding down from the activities of the day,

Take a few moments to reconnect with your intention.

Connect on the events of the day,

Thoughts that came up,

Conversations you had,

Your overall mood,

And see how these connect with your intention from the morning.

Were your thoughts and actions aligned with the intention you set for yourself?

The idea is not to keep score but to more broadly acknowledge how your intention affected you throughout the day.

Whatever thoughts and feelings this might bring up for you,

Stay with them.

You do not need to push away negative thoughts or hold on to the positive.

Simply be present with the experience.

Finally,

Think of a positive aspect of your day.

Maybe it's a meaningful conversation or simply nourishing yourself with a delicious meal.

Take joy in the thought of this.

If you're struggling or had a hard day,

You can simply take joy in the fact that you began your day by setting a conscious intention.

You can keep this exercise short at 3-5 minutes in length.

Taking joy in the day,

Even in the simple fact of the intention we have made,

Is important.

It gives us something positive to carry into the next day and helps us harness motivation and the service of our intentions.

Joy plays a crucial role in our motivation,

Especially in sustaining motivation over a prolonged period of time.

A short, simple and effective check in at the end of the day. I find this especially helpful when preparing for sleep. It’s just the reset I need before my sleep meditation 🙏🏻

Very practical, clear, concise. This is an excellent exposition of the purpose, content, and benefits of an end of day meditation. Worth litstening to several times to fully digest.
