Now,
Bring your awareness in,
Inwards,
So you might start with a deep sigh,
Inhaling and letting go as you exhale,
And you could do that even a few times,
So leaving behind the hustle and bustle of the day,
Of the morning,
Fully arriving in this moment,
The simplicity of just sitting,
And notice where the body is touching,
Your seat,
Maybe cushion,
Sofa,
Chair,
Carpet,
Just feel your body here in whatever posture it is in,
Feel the intimacy of warmth,
Subtle movements,
Pounding,
Breathing,
Inhaling,
Exhaling,
The body is ever moving in subtle ways,
There's nothing for you to do,
To get to,
Just rest here,
In this place,
In this moment,
Every moment there is an experience,
A thought,
A feeling,
A sound,
A smell,
Simply watch that,
Notice how each moment is passing,
Each experience,
Coming,
Going,
There's a Zen koan,
Where a monk asks Master Joshu,
If a newborn baby also has the sixth sense of thinking,
Can a newborn also think,
And then Master Joshu says it's like a ball in a current,
In very fast streaming water,
Later this is explained by another Zen master as moment after moment of awareness,
Experience after experience without stopping,
So it's like we're this ball in the water,
And we're pushed along with the flow,
Every moment there is some experience,
Like a current of experience,
And it never stops,
However subtle the experiencing goes on,
And there's no problem with this,
If we don't resist,
Or fight it,
Or judge it,
So now you can sit here,
In the awareness of the body and the breath,
Simply resting in your own presence,
This is the inner stillness of the ball,
Inside the ball there's no movement,
It just is,
But the experience is ever changing,
No need to think about this,
Just notice,
Whatever the mind says or does is also part of the current,
The stream of experiences,
So we may bounce along with this current,
Stream along,
Flow along,
Just notice how you're feeling this or that,
And then it changes,
Another feeling,
Another thought,
But in itself this ball just is,
And doesn't change,
So also you,
We are just here,
The presence,
Our presence is essentially still,
Even if there's a sense of distractedness,
It's just an experience,
Notice you are here,
Sitting here,
To experience this,
Just be here,
Remain here,
Receive and let go,
Nothing to do,
What is going on right now for you,
Notice it is already changing,
Never stable,
Never permanent,
No need to hold on to anything,
And it's not possible anyway,
Just be here,
As you are,
Maybe desire comes for something else,
The end of meditation,
Or whatever,
Just notice it's also a visitor,
You are here,
In itself your being is peaceful,
And doesn't need anything,
Anything extra,
Or anything at all,
The body is at rest,
The breath is just moving,
However hard we try,
However fast we run,
Or force,
There will never be more than this moment,
This moment,
This experience,
And our being will not change,
You are here,
Not becoming less or more,
Just here,
That's it.
