This meditation invites you to gently move from the darkest day — the winter solstice — into the quiet return of light, as a symbol of the cycles within our own lives. While rooted in this seasonal turning point, the practice is also an invitation for any moment when you are moving through an inner transition, letting go, or beginning again. Through simple imagery of the sun, the moon, and natural rhythms, you are guided to honor what has ended and what is slowly taking shape. Expect a calm, grounding space that supports reflection, release, and remembrance — a place to rest in presence and reconnect with your inner rhythm, without pressure to change or become anything new.

Welcome.

Find a comfortable position,

Seated or lying down.

Let your body arrive.

No need to fix anything.

No need to perform.

Just allow yourself to be here.

Take a slow inhale through the nose and a soft unforced exhale through the mouth.

Feel the weight of your body supported by the earth beneath you.

Let your shoulders soften.

Let your jaw relax.

Let your breath find its own rhythm.

The winter solstice marked the darkest point of the year.

A sacred result.

A moment of stillness and now the light has begun to return,

Quietly,

Faithfully,

Almost unnoticed and with it a subtle shift begins.

Not everything needs to be visible yet.

Not everything is meant to grow in full light.

There is nothing to fear in the darkness.

It is a place of rest,

A place of quiet growing,

A place where truth quietly forms.

Just like the moon,

Which follows its own rhythm,

Sometimes bright and visible,

Sometimes disappearing into the night,

Even though it is always there,

Always shining,

Even when we cannot see it.

Take a moment now to honor what has ended.

The version of you that belonged to another season.

The ways of being that once protected but no longer need to come with you.

Without pushing away or ignoring the uncomfortable parts,

Because they shaped you,

Guided you back to your true self,

They helped you remember who you really are.

Now bring your awareness inward.

As the days slowly begin to lengthen again,

Ask yourself,

What is ready to be released so something truer,

Something that has always been there,

Can rise with the returning light.

What part of me is ready,

Even if I don't yet know what comes next?

There is no need to search for answers.

Let them rise or let there be silence.

Light and darkness do not oppose each other,

They define each other.

Without darkness there would be no return to light,

Without light we would never know that we are growing.

And just like the sun,

You are not meant to shine on earth all the time,

And yet,

After every night,

It rises again,

Day after day,

With each passing day after the solstice the light increases.

Not all at once,

Not loudly,

But faithfully.

Imagine now a quiet glow at the center of your chest,

Small,

Steady,

Alive,

This light does not erase the darkness,

It carries its wisdom.

This is not a beginning you need to force,

It is a remembering that unfolds naturally.

Rest here for a few breaths,

Allow both the darkness and the returning light to belong.

When you're ready,

Begin to deepen your breath.

Gently wiggle your fingers and toes,

And carry this knowing with you in the days ahead.

You do not need to rush your rising,

The light is already returning,

And you are not becoming someone new.

You are remembering who you have always been,

Shaped by the darkness,

Born by the light,

And ready to walk forward with your whole self.
