Find a nice tall seat,
Either sitting on the edge of a chair so that your feet can rest fully on the floor and your spine stay tall.
Or perhaps you're seated on the ground comfortably.
Maybe you're leaning up against a wall or seated up on a block or cushion.
Or maybe you're even lying down.
I want to give you permission to do whatever feels best.
So ask yourself what you want.
Listen for the answer.
And then say yes.
We want to learn to listen to our own cues from our body.
Our yeses,
Our noes,
Our I'm not so sure.
We want to invite all sensation.
We want to practice presence.
Rooting down through your sitting bones and rising up through the crown of your head.
Wherever part of your body is making contact with the chair,
The ground,
Your bed,
Wherever your body is making contact,
Can you lean in a little bit more?
And then using that support,
Can you find a buoyancy and rise up from that place?
I want to invite you to create a grounding cord.
So imagine the sacred place between your pubic bone and two sitting bones.
Anatomically,
This is known as the perineum.
In Sanskrit,
You'll hear it described as mula dara chakra.
This is the root,
Your base,
And connection with the earth.
Imagine if you can a red orb here.
And the word chakra,
For those of you that are unfamiliar,
It means wheel.
So you've got this beautiful red orb,
And I want you to notice its color.
And I also want to assure you that using your imagination is perfect.
We often undermine the imagination,
However,
It's incredibly potent.
Everything around you was once an idea in someone's mind.
So dare yourself to dream.
Allow your mind to wander.
Play with loosening your restrictions and color outside your lines.
So you've got this gorgeous red orb.
Notice its color.
It might be deep,
Dark red.
Maybe a lighter pale red.
Maybe it's dull or radiant.
It doesn't have to be anything.
Just notice.
Just listen.
And see in the way that you see.
From your root,
I'm going to invite you now to imagine a red cord flowing down from this orb from this base of your body.
All the way down into the earth.
Through the layers of soil.
Clay.
Bedrock.
Water.
Water.
Keep descending and going down,
Down,
Down.
All the way to the center of the earth.
If you get stuck,
Take a big breath.
Maybe wiggle your body a little bit.
Shake things loose.
Constructs in your mind,
Rigidity.
Just take a nice big breath.
Shake it loose.
And once you come to the center,
You can either tie your red cord around the center of the earth or I like to imagine that at the end of the cord there's a large metal anchor.
And it plunges into the center of the earth,
Anchoring me to the center.
And with this connection to the center of the earth,
I want you to notice that you have this beautiful tether.
And it's not a tie that binds.
It's a commitment,
A connectivity that allows for freedom.
So as you're anchored into something and you take a breath,
There's so much more expansion available because you're not going anywhere and you're going everywhere at the same time.
So now with this anchoring into the ground,
Root once again down through your sitting bones or if you're lying down,
Think about pressing through your heels.
And elongating through the crown of your head so the whole central channel of your body flows freely.
And anchored down through your root,
Now imagine a golden orb above the crown of your head.
Take a nice big cleansing breath in.
And open your mouth,
Exhale out.
Can you notice now that the golden orb starts to open and spill over?
And dripping out of the golden orb is this beautiful,
Radiant honey-like mixture.
And you can feel it drip onto your scalp.
This quality is so soothing and energizing at the same time.
Its essence is of the universe,
Love,
Tenderness,
And a luminosity that cannot be described but felt.
Allow it to start to saturate your body.
And not just noticing the bigger places like the shape of your head or shoulders,
Fingers,
Or even toes.
Take your inner gaze inside your body.
Imagine this coating soothing the fibers of your muscles.
Feeding your bones.
And let it drip now into your cellular matrix.
Allowing your imagination to go molecular.
Going and noticing how you are made up of cells.
Not only the cells themselves,
But the space in between.
Keep going smaller.
Keep going smaller.
See if you can get atomic nucleus and electron.
Allow this beautiful radiance to saturate all the space in between.
Before you are comprised of 99% space.
You are the space in between.
You are expansive.
You are limitless.
Deepen your breath.
Deepen your breath.
Allow your breath to create a buoyancy in your body.
Once again tapping into being tethered,
Being held,
And free at the same time.
Expansive.
Spacious.
And form matter at the same time.
Stay with your breath.
Every cell in your body moves to this pulse of expansion and contraction.
Can you set the tone with your breath?
See if you can soften your body just a little bit more.
Come deeper into that state of allowing,
The one that is only born out of trust.
Anchored to the center of the earth.
Ever expanding and contracting with your breath.
And coming into the rhythm of life.
Dropping back into the rhythm of all things.
The symphony of all things.
Stay with your breath.
I want to invite you to stay as long as you need.
When you are ready to transition and there's no rush,
Just want to bring your right hand to the center of your chest and then stacking your left over top.
Just feeling your heartbeat.
That expansion and contraction of all life.
Staying in time with your breath.
Claim your radiance.
And rest here as long as you need.
May you go with grace.
