In this meditation, we focus on training the mind through mindfulness to let go of all that holds us back. Each time our mind carries us to an unpleasant place, we come back to our breath. Letting go means we stop carrying the weight of the world on our shoulders, we welcome the present moment and believe in our own healing power.

Welcome to this meditation on letting go.

Let's start by finding a comfortable position either cross-legged on the floor,

Sitting in a chair,

Or lying down.

The most important thing is that you feel comfortable and relaxed.

Taking some deep breaths in,

Feeling the flow of air entering in your nose,

Flowing in your lungs,

Down your abdomen,

And then release.

As you breathe in and out,

Allow yourself to release the tension you may be carrying.

We carry so much on our shoulders.

The weight of the world holds us back from becoming all that we were created to be.

Too often we focus on past resentment,

Anger,

Sadness,

Guilt,

And loss.

In doing this,

We take away the joy that can exist in the present.

This is why we practice meditation,

Because an untrained mind will be unaware that it is lost in the past or distracted by the future.

It will tell us that we should be upset when the truth is we need to let go.

Too often we get trapped in the chaos of our mind.

We waste so much precious energy on things or experiences that are out of our control.

Worry and anxiety that comes from this sort of dance in our mind leaves us with very little energy left to give the present moment the only moment we truly exist in.

Letting go means we stop using our energy on things that we cannot control.

We accept the past for what it was.

We forgive ourselves and others.

We hold lovingly what the past taught us.

We learn to smile at it.

A mindfulness practice teaches us to breathe into the present moment.

Each time our mind slips back into a memory,

Good or bad,

We notice it and then come back to our breath.

We don't get stuck in expectations of the future.

We can give gentle intention to it,

But then we let it go.

Because worry of the future takes away our present too.

Please take some time now to just breathe,

To notice how we are feeling and give space to whatever needs our energy right now.

Relax your body and just be in this moment.

Come back.

Looking back,

Let's breathe in and be aware of our breath.

Take some more deep breaths,

Feeling the air come in through your nose,

Filling your lungs and flowing down to your abdomen.

Then release it.

Do this a few more times.

Each time you are distracted by thoughts,

Come back to your breath.

Maybe repeat the words in your head.

I am breathing in.

I am breathing out.

Focus on being aware of your breath in this moment.

And now with your head out,

Mobile your sticky hands and feel the air farting inside your body.

Everyone's experience here on Earth is different.

Some have gone through unthinkable challenges.

When we focus on the sadness or pain of our lives,

We forget about the light.

Our mind has the power to focus on what we believe.

If all we focus on is bad,

That is all we will see.

But we have the power in us to change this,

To focus on happiness and the wondrous life we are capable of living.

In our minds is where we exist,

So we must make it a nice place to be.

Through mindfulness,

This is possible.

Letting go,

Forgiving ourselves and others,

And loving all that we are,

All is possible within our own minds.

But just as a marathon runner must build endurance to make it through that long run,

We must build endurance in our minds to make it through the walk of life.

Nothing is impossible.

Nothing is too difficult to be conquered.

It is a choice which way we choose to go.

If we don't believe we can let go of something,

We won't be able to.

But if we believe,

We give it wings and let it go.

We will finally see how free we really are to choose.

Choose to stay where you are or choose to walk the path to where you want to be.

The choice is yours.

You hold the power within you to change your life.

You hold the power within your heart and mind to let go of what is holding you back.

Let go of the struggle you are living with.

And that no one else holds this power to change your life.

Only you can do this for yourself.

Breathing in,

Repeat,

I am aware I am breathing in and breathing out.

I am aware that I am breathing out.

Continue to practice even on the tough days.

Know that every breath you remain aware of is helping you on your way.

And be gentle with yourself on this journey.

And go,

The ability to forgive,

Awareness and compassion are all qualities of a happy person.

You are that happy person.

Believe and you will receive.

Peace and goodwill to you.
