Your Identity Statement is like a personalized affirmation statement that speaks directly to the person you want to become. My personal Identity Statement is like my North Star - it guides my actions, decisions, behaviors and thoughts. Once you craft your own, you'll be able to start making intentional shifts, so you can start making positive change, rather than feeling lost and unmotivated to change.

Hello,

My friend,

And welcome to this visualization meditation for crafting your identity statement.

When you feel ready,

Come to a comfortable seat.

Have your journal or worksheet nearby so that you can answer some questions at the end of this meditation.

Place your feet flat on the floor so that you can feel supported by Mother Earth.

Sit tall and proud through your spine,

Finding a spaciousness and length between your tailbone and the crown of your head.

Perhaps draw your shoulders up towards your ears momentarily on an inhale.

And on your exhale,

Soften the shoulders down,

Away from the ears.

Release any tension there the best you can.

Feel a broadness and an openness in the space of your chest and collarbones.

Stack your earlobes over your shoulders,

Crown of head over your tailbone,

Shoulders over hips.

Sitting tall,

Sitting proud.

Begin to notice your breath.

Not trying to shape or change it in any way,

But instead just noticing the act of breathing.

Watching your inhale as you breathe in through your nose,

Taking the air into your lungs,

Filling up chest and belly.

And exhale,

Watching the air exit the body.

Take a moment here to just observe the breath.

Maybe you notice that as you bring attention to the breath,

The breath naturally lengthens.

And if that's not the case,

Then that's okay too.

Feel the support of the chair beneath you.

Feel your connection with the ground through the soles of your feet.

Arms and shoulders are relaxed,

Hands resting on thighs or folded in your lap.

Eyes can be closed or your gaze can be soft.

Let's begin.

I want you to imagine yourself about six months in the future.

I want you to imagine yourself as the kind of person you want to be,

The kind of person that you deeply desire to become.

Imagine yourself in front of you as this new version of yourself.

Think of this version of you as being someone who has taken time for self-care,

For personal growth,

For prioritizing your needs,

For acknowledging your wants and desires.

This is a version of you that has been loved on,

Attended to,

Made a priority.

Notice how these truths have affected the person you have become.

Start by noticing what you look like as this future version of yourself.

Not just your features necessarily,

But notice things like how are you carrying yourself?

How are you standing?

What is your posture like?

Are you standing tall?

Is there an ease in your face?

Are you smiling?

Take a moment to notice those details about yourself.

Maybe notice details like what are you wearing?

What are you doing?

Who are you with?

Creating this picture,

This visualization in front of you,

A visualization that gives you joy or happiness or peace.

What do you notice about yourself?

Take a few moments to observe those things.

And then I want you to imagine that you could actually step inside this version of yourself,

Continuing to breathe,

Continuing to inhale,

Exhale.

Imagine that you could walk forward and actually step inside the body of this future you.

How do you feel as this version of yourself?

What do you notice about your emotions?

What emotions are you feeling?

Do you feel joy?

Do you feel contentment?

Do you feel excitement?

Do you feel purpose?

Do you feel fulfilled?

Do you feel confident?

What kind of things are you feeling in this vision of who you'd like to become?

What kind of things do you say to yourself?

What is that inner dialogue speaking?

Are they kind words?

Are they affirming words?

Are they confident words?

Are they gentle words?

Are they loving and compassionate words?

Notice what phrases you hear coming from your inner dialogue.

Take a moment to soak in this state of being.

Continuing to inhale and exhale,

Breathing easy.

Soften the jaw,

Soften your shoulders.

Relax the inside of your mouth.

When you feel like you've soaked in everything that you'd like to soak in from this visualization,

You can allow it to begin to dissolve.

Knowing that this is available for you anytime you'd like to make the time to come and be here,

That this version of you is absolutely available to you and that you can become this version of yourself if you are willing to take the steps in order to step in to this new identity.

Let's take one more inhale through the nose,

Filling chest and belly.

Exhale completely.

Really begin to crack the eyes open.

First taking in a few colors in front of you and then maybe some colors and objects in the room around you.

Just observing,

Moving your eyes about the room.

And finally,

I'd like you to grab the journal nearby or the worksheet that you printed out and take some time to write down the details that you noticed while doing this meditation.

The first question on the worksheet asks,

What did you notice visually about yourself?

How did you carry yourself?

What were you wearing?

What were you doing?

Write down as many visual details that you can remember.

Continuing that easy,

Spacious breath that we cultivated together during this meditation.

When you feel complete,

When you feel like you've written everything down that you can remember,

And if you need more time,

Feel free to pause this audio track.

The next question you'll answer is,

How did you feel as this version of yourself?

What were the emotions you experienced?

And what was that inner dialogue saying?

What words or phrases did you hear?

And what emotions and state of being did you feel?

Take as much time as you need to write down everything you remember.

Again,

Invitation to pause if you need more time.

The final thing we'll be doing together is crafting your identity statement.

So the last question on the worksheet or in your journal will answer the prompt,

I am becoming a person,

A woman,

Or a leader who.

.

.

I am becoming a person who.

.

.

I am becoming a woman who.

.

.

I am becoming a leader who.

.

.

And then you get to fill in the blanks based on the details you remembered,

Based on this visualization that you created,

Based on this version of yourself you'd like to become.

Start crafting your identity statement.

Start writing down this identity that you would like to step into.

And when you've finished,

Take a deep breath in,

Breathe in that new state of being and exhale.

Beautiful work.

Thank you for doing this meditation with me.

I'm sending you so much love and I'd love for you to share your identity statement with me.

Namaste,

My friend.
