Hi my friends.
Let's come into a comfortable seated position in a chair where your feet can easily touch the floor.
You should be barefoot to do this practice.
Pause the recording if necessary.
Now bring both hands to the center of your chest.
Close your eyes and take a deep breath.
Now rate yourself on a scale of 1 to 10 with 1 being scattered and overwhelmed and 10 is aligned and clear.
5 is I'm okay.
Good.
Now exhale with me drawing belly gently toward your spine releasing stale air.
Inhale deeply through your nose and open your mouth and exhale very slowly through that open mouth.
Simply inhaling deeply and exhale slowly through that open mouth.
We'll continue to breathe in this manner throughout our practice.
When we turn inward at the heart we already begin to align our energies.
I'm going to explain our practice.
The techniques we are using today are from Donna Eden and her Energy Medicine.
The main practice was developed by Wayne Cook who was an amazing researcher in bioenergetic fields.
He helped people with dyslexia and stuttering.
The Wayne Cook posture can help us bring our energies into alignment.
Our energies can become scrambled when we are exhausted or stressed and the energy pathways or meridians can actually begin to run backwards.
In our first practice we will be tapping the kidney 27 points on the chest to restore natural energy flow.
To locate the kidney 27 points find your collarbones at the top of your chest.
Touch them with your fingers.
Now move your fingers along both collarbones toward the midline of your body until the collarbone ends and you will find a little notch at the base of your throat.
Go to the end of the collarbones which is right before you get to the throat notch.
Drop straight down from there about an inch.
You will feel a soft indentation.
Let your fingers rest here.
Just to clarify you can find the kidney 27 points by moving your fingers along the collarbones toward the center line of your body until it ends.
Drop straight downwards to the soft indentations.
Bring your fingertips together and gently tap here as you return to a deep breath with a long exhalation.
Now cross your hands to the opposite indentation or kidney 27 point.
Tap gently.
You don't have to be in the perfect location because with five fingers together you'll definitely stimulate the points.
Crossing the hands is not necessary but it aids in crossing over the midline of the body.
K27 is at the end of the kidney meridian and it could be tender.
This just means stuck energy so perhaps you wish to massage rather than tap.
Good.
Now relax your hands to your thighs.
This practice alone will energize you in a positive focus manner.
I love to tap kidney 27 as a standalone practice when I'm in a mid-afternoon energy slump because it helps the chakras of the body spin properly.
Now we will move on to the Wayne Cook posture.
I'm so excited to share this practice with you because it clearly helps the body come into alignment.
I'll repeat the directions two times to assure you get it.
Once you know this practice you'll do it easily.
With your hands on your thighs locate the right side of your body and then the left side of your body.
Cross your left ankle over your right knee.
Left ankle crossing over the right knee.
Now take your right hand and wrap it around the left ankle.
Noticing we're crossing right and left sides of the body.
Right hand wraps around the left ankle.
Now wrap your left hand around the left ankle.
Now wrap your left hand around the ball of the left foot.
Left hand to the ball of the left foot.
Sit up as straight as possible.
Exhale here with me.
Inhale slowly through your nose allowing the breath to lift your body as you pull the leg toward you.
And as you exhale through your mouth slowly invite the body to soften.
So inhale lifts the torso tugging the leg toward you.
Although it doesn't move much exhaling invite the body to relax.
Inhale lifts the torso and exhale softens.
Continue with two more breaths just like that.
Four to five breaths are recommended.
Great.
Now let's switch sides.
Cross your right ankle over your left knee.
Right ankle crossing over the left knee.
Take your left hand and wrap it around the right ankle crossing the midline.
And now wrap your right hand around the ball of the right foot.
Exhale here with me.
Inhale slowly through your nose inviting the body to lift tugging the leg toward you.
Exhale slowly through your mouth invite the body to soften.
Inhaling as you lift your torso and exhaling through your mouth inviting your body to relax.
Good.
Keep breathing in this manner.
The Wayne Cook posture invites our body's energy circuits to move in an even flow throughout the body.
It helps us move from the reactive reptilian brain on stress to the clarity of our thinking forebrain and it harmonizes the two.
Good.
Now uncross your legs planting both feet on the floor.
For the last part of the Wayne Cook posture bring your fingertips together so that they create a pyramid shape.
Place your thumbs into the third eye area just above the bridge of your nose.
Fingertips are together and the thumbs are placed just above the bridge of the nose at the third eye area.
Fingers are pointing straight up in that pyramid shape.
Take three full breaths here.
Inhaling deeply through your nose and exhale slowly through your mouth.
Now on this last breath inhale as you take your fingertips and curl them into the center of your forehead.
Gently press here and pull apart toward your temples.
Let's do that again.
Place your fingertips in the center of your forehead.
Press and pull apart to the temples.
We're releasing stuck energy in the head.
Good.
Now bring your hands back to your heart.
Take a moment to breathe and relax here.
Notice how your body feels.
Nice.
Now rate yourself on that scale of 1 to 10 with 1 being stressed and 10 being focused and calm.
As you leave this practice and go on with your day notice any changes that may filter into your life.
Here are some things I notice.
I'm more grounded.
I'm better able to convey information verbally.
I find myself completing things that need to be done with more ease.
When our energies are scrambled it affects those around us especially children.
When we're in alignment that clear centered energy can be contagious.
Wishing you deep peace my friends.
