This breathing meditation uses our own healing hands to calm and presence ourselves within. It assures us that we are breathing diaphragmatically which relaxes our nervous system. This practice is deeply soothing for anyone suffering from for stress, anxiety, grief, addiction, and more. It also gives us time to breathe in stillness at several points along the practice, finishing with finding peace within our heart. Enjoy my friends!

Find a comfortable seated position.

Close your eyes and let your breath deepen.

Bring your attention to your spine.

From the neck down the back,

Past the base of the spine,

Putting down a grounding cord deep within the earth.

Allow the attention to drop down the legs until you feel the feet dropping down again grounding yourself into the earth.

Keep breathing deeply as you take the two hands together and rub them vigorously,

Stimulating the electromagnetic frequency in the palms of the hands that are very healing.

Rub until you find that sense of warmth,

Heat in the hands.

And then place one hand flat on your belly with the other hand right on top.

Soften your shoulders and begin to take all of your focus into the belly,

Expanding the belly on the inhalation.

Slow the exhalation down and relax and release.

During this practice,

I'm going to give you space to breathe and be with your body and your breath.

When I say enjoy your breathing,

You will breathe quietly.

Good,

Now just take your hands and wrap them around your hips so the arms are crossed and move the hands up to the low ribs.

Relax your elbows,

Soften the shoulders and begin to take your breath again into the belly.

But now bring your focus to the side ribs,

The low ribs,

Filling that space on your inhale and releasing and relaxing slowly on your exhalation.

This is so soothing,

Healing and calming for your nervous system.

So breathing in this manner,

Enjoy your breath.

Wonderful.

Now take your hands up into your armpits with the thumbs on top of the chest.

Relax the elbows and begin to breathe again into the belly,

Widening the low ribs but bringing the breath all the way up into the armpit area,

Chest area.

On your exhale,

Release,

Relax,

Soften those shoulders and just allow yourself to enjoy this practice.

This particular way of positioning the arms is from Donna Eden,

Energy medicine teacher,

Who tells us that this is very soothing for our nervous system.

It also helps with grief,

With anxiety and any type of heartache.

Notice how your arms are crossed right on top of your Sacred Heart Center.

And you may even want to slowly sway the body side to side here,

Another soothing,

Cradling step to letting go,

Bringing the breath from the belly to the low ribs,

Gently lifting the heart.

On your exhale,

Just let go.

Enjoy your breathing.

So,

Let's take a breath here.

Good.

Now just take the hands and place them at the heart,

One palm right on top of the other.

And we'll change the focus of our breath from inhaling into that space where the hands are located.

Dive deep within the heart space as you do this.

And on the exhale,

Just sit in that deep peace that you find within.

Soften and relax the face.

Inhaling right into your heart.

Dive your attention inside.

And on your exhale,

Just sit and be in that sense of peace.

And just release your hands now and keep breathing into your heart.

Finding that deep peace within.

And you can keep breathing in this manner as long as you would like.

Namaste my friends.

This practice makes perfect sense. We know that we can soothe others with our hands but we forget that we can also soothe ourselves. Thank you for sharing this wonderful practice ๐Ÿ’œ

I found the teacherโ€™s voice and background music soothing. I appreciated the pacing of this meditation. I found it helpful to be able to focus on breathing from my heart area after I had placed my hands there. I wondered if I should be rubbing my palms together again to reheat them?
