Welcome to this falling asleep meditation.

If you're here,

It's because you're ready to unwind and find peace for the night.

No matter how the day has been,

This is your time to let go,

Relax,

And gently drift into a restful sleep.

You don't need to do anything but be here in this moment.

The world can wait.

Find a comfortable position in your bed,

Settling into the sheets and blankets.

Let your body feel supported by the mattress beneath you.

Gently close your eyes and take a deep breath in through your nose,

Filling your lungs completely.

Then exhale slowly through your mouth,

Releasing any tension in your body.

Let the air you breathe carry away the weight of the day.

Take another slow,

Deep breath,

And as you exhale,

Feel your body sink even deeper into the bed.

Imagine that with each breath,

You're becoming more and more relaxed,

Letting go of everything that doesn't serve you right now.

Now gently bring your awareness to your body.

Start at the top of your head and slowly scan down your body,

Noticing any tension or tightness.

As you breathe,

Let go of any areas of discomfort.

Relax your forehead,

Unclench your jaw,

And allow your shoulders to soften.

With every exhale,

Feel your body becoming heavier,

More grounded,

And more relaxed.

Now let's bring your awareness to your breath.

Notice the rhythm of it.

Don't try to change it,

Simply observe.

Inhale deeply and exhale slowly.

Feel the rise and fall of your chest,

The gentle expansion of your lungs,

And the soothing sensation of the breath leaving your body.

Each breath is like a wave that carries you further into relaxation.

As you continue to breathe deeply,

Let your mind soften.

Imagine your thoughts as clouds floating gently by in a wide open sky.

Each thought is just a cloud,

Temporary and passing.

There is no need to hold onto them.

You don't need to act on them right now.

Just let them float away as you breathe in peace and breathe out any tension.

If you notice any racing thoughts,

Don't judge them.

Simply acknowledge them and gently release them,

Like letting go of a balloon and seeing it float off into the distance.

Let your thoughts become lighter and lighter until they fade into the background.

You are safe in this moment.

There is nothing you need to do but allow your mind to rest.

Now imagine you are lying on a soft,

Grassy hill beneath the stars.

The night is calm,

Peaceful,

And still.

You feel the coolness of the grass beneath you,

The soft breeze on your skin,

And the gentle rhythmic pulse of your breath.

As you gaze up at the sky,

Notice the stars twinkling softly above you.

They are distant and vast,

But their light is steady and gentle.

Each star represents peace and calm,

And as you focus on them,

Feel their light slowly filling your body,

Relaxing each muscle and soothing every part of you.

As the stars shine brightly above you,

Allow their warmth and peace to surround you.

You are bathed in their soft,

Calming light,

And with each breath,

You feel more at ease,

More serene.

With every exhale,

Imagine you are releasing any remaining tension,

Any worries,

And any thoughts that have kept you awake.

Send all of these up to the stars as they can hold space for everything you're feeling.

Allow your breath to send these worries away,

Leaving you feeling light,

Peaceful,

And ready for deep rest.

Now imagine that with each breath,

You're sinking deeper and deeper into relaxation.

You are floating in a sea of calm,

Your body feeling heavier and more relaxed with each passing moment.

There is nothing to do,

Nowhere to go.

You are safe here in this quiet space,

Letting go of everything that's not needed,

Your body feels soft and warm,

Your mind is peaceful,

And your thoughts are gentle,

Fading into the distance.

You are drifting,

Slowly,

Effortlessly,

Into the soothing embrace of sleep.

Every part of you is sinking deeper into this stillness,

And the more you relax,

The easier it becomes to let go and rest.

If any thoughts continue to arise,

Imagine they are gently floating away as clouds in the sky.

You don't need to engage with them,

They are not important right now.

What is important is your peace,

Your stillness,

And your sleep,

And the stars above are calling you to rest.

With each passing moment,

You are becoming more and more relaxed,

Your body is calm,

Your mind is quiet,

And sleep is just a breath away.

You are ready for deep,

Restful sleep,

And as you rest,

Know that when you awake,

You will feel refreshed,

Rejuvenated,

And at peace.

Let go now,

And drift into sleep,

Knowing you are safe,

You are loved,

And you are enough.
