You can do this vacation mindset guided meditation anywhere.

So just take a moment to get comfortable,

Whether you're seated,

Laying down or floating.

Settle into your position.

Once you're comfortable in your mind's eye,

Picture yourself standing on a tropical beach.

You feel the sand between your toes.

The heat is rising up off the sand and warming your calves.

A gentle breeze caresses your skin and shifts your hair.

You look around and see palm trees lining the edge of the beach.

The water gently laps at the shore and as far as you can see in either direction,

You have the beach completely to yourself.

Begin to slowly walk down to the water.

As you get closer to the water,

You hear the lap of the waves get a little stronger.

The breeze picks up slightly and your skin notices it's just a hair cooler.

You come to the water's edge and pause and the biggest waves begin to lap at your toes.

The water is pleasantly warm and as the waves recede,

It pulls the sand around your feet back out with it.

You decide to go for a swim.

You slowly walk further out into the water.

Once you get to mid-thigh,

The resistance of the water is strong enough.

You decide to dive in.

The water is delicious.

The temperature is just right and as you break the surface to come back up,

You blink the water out of your eyes to see birds slowly circling above.

You decide to roll onto your back and float.

The salty water is just the right temperature and completely buoys you.

Feel your body relax as you realize it only takes a gentle skull with your hands occasionally to keep yourself afloat.

Your toes gently bob in and out of the water.

Your eyes are gently shut against the glare of the warming sun.

You lick your lips and taste the salty water and then allow your jaw to relax.

Since your ears are submerged,

There's no recognizable sounds that you attach to.

You fully let go and surrender to your float.

Your breath is calm and steady.

You can feel your chest rise up into the air easily and as it sinks back down,

It spreads and is supported by the water.

You have nowhere else to be,

Nowhere else to go,

Nothing that needs attending to.

You just float and fully immerse your body,

Breath,

And mind in the sensations of floating.

You just float and fully immerse your body,

Breath,

And mind in the sensations of floating.

You just float and fully immerse your body,

Breath,

And mind in the sensations of floating.

Gently allow your awareness to return to the sensations on your skin.

Move your hands and feet gently in the water to reorient yourself.

Sigh and lick your lips.

Open your eyes as you let your feet drop back down to the sand.

Feel the water run off your hair,

Your head,

And the breeze touches your wet skin.

Slowly walk out of the water back up toward the beach.

Feel the resistance of the water and how you're working against it.

As you walk back up the beach to the tree line to re-encounter your daily life,

Remember the reluctance of the water to give you up.

At any time during your day,

Briefly close your eyes and remember the sensations of the water.

Use that as your cue if you're struggling and need a dose of vacation mindset.

Use the imagery of these tropical sensations to help you check back in with yourself and de-stress.
