Namaste.
Hello,
My name is Christine and I thank you for joining me in the second of the series of learning how to practice self-care.
Sometimes when we've been doing so much for so long,
It can feel like everything has become tangled.
Our thoughts,
Emotions and reactions become messy and it's hard to make sense of what to do next.
Sometimes either multiple events or one large event can send us cascading and this is when we're needing self-care more than ever.
But how?
When everything around us feels out of control and we feel compelled to keep going in the midst of turmoil.
Two important life lessons I've learned in these times of tangles are,
I was not in control of other people's reactions.
I could only be in control of my own.
And the other one was that I learned that sometimes life has a way of untangling itself without me interfering and making it all worse for myself.
Shortly I'm going to ask you some questions where I'm needing you to think about and write down your answers.
Before we jump into that,
I'm just going to take you through a short Mindfulness Body Relaxation Session.

While you're in this relaxed state,
I'd like you to contemplate the following questions.
Between each question I'll be playing some soft music for you to think about and write down of your answers if you so wish.
What are the immediate things that are causing you to feel everything is tangled or messy or out of control?
So that question again is,
What are the immediate things that are causing you to feel everything is tangled or messy or out of control?
Second question,
What are the things that are not in your control?
So that question again is,
What are the things that are not in your control?
What are the things you can control?
Remembering we can only control other people or situations,
Only how we can respond to them.
So what are the things you can control?
Remembering we cannot control other people or situations,
Only how we respond to them.
What does your mind,
Body,
Emotions and soul need to get through this time?
What does your mind,
Your body,
Your emotions,
Your soul need to get through this time?
I'd like to invite you now to take you through a short permission exercise to allow yourself to practice self-care in these difficult times of your life.
