Welcome to this mindful meditation.
Use this 5 minute reboot meditation anytime to reset your mind and your body.
Begin by finding a comfortable seated position with your arms resting in your lap.
Bring your awareness to your breath while sitting up tall and inhaling through your nose.
Fill your lungs slowly,
Then slowly exhale.
Next scan your body.
Like a wave,
Begin at the crown of your head and move slowly down.
Focus the muscles in your scalp,
Then your forehead,
Then slowly move down to your eyes.
Finding a comfortable position for your eyes behind your closed eyelids.
Continue the scan down into your jaw.
Place the tip of your tongue at the roof of your mouth,
Just behind your two upper front teeth.
This will naturally relax your jaw.
Gently leave your tongue there as you move down into your neck.
Hearing the air that enters your lungs moving through your neck,
Filling your lungs with air.
Feel your heart beating.
Be aware of your heart.
It beats throughout the day without us having to think.
Feel your chest expanding as you inhale.
And as you exhale,
Feel your chest move back towards your spine.
Continue down into your abdomen.
Release any tension that you might feel in your abdomen,
In your belly.
Continuing to breathe.
Feel listening to your breath as you continue down into your hips.
Release the tension in those muscles in your lower hips.
Release any tension that you feel there.
Draw your breath to those large muscles as you gently inhale and exhale.
Move down into your thighs and your knees.
Release the tension there and move down into your calves as your mind gently massages those muscles in your calves.
Release the tension there.
Move down to your feet.
To the soles of your feet,
Release that tension all the way down to your toes.
And relax.
As we move toward the end of this meditation,
Know that you can come to this place anytime to reboot your mind and your body.
This practice will prepare you for any situations that may come your way.
Remember to always be mindful.
You can gently open your eyes.
Namaste.
