After being around others — conversations, emotions, expectations — it’s easy to carry things that were never yours to hold. This guided meditation offers a gentle space to release what you may have picked up from others and return to yourself, without hardening or shutting down. You can still care deeply. You just don’t have to carry everything. This practice is especially supportive after social time, emotional intensity, or when you notice you feel off but can’t quite name why. You’re invited to move slowly, breathe gently, and pause whenever you need. There’s nothing to fix here — just a soft return to your own center. If this practice supports you, you’re welcome to place it on repeat or return to it anytime you’ve been around others and want to feel like yourself again.

If you've been around other people and you feel heavy,

Overstimulated,

Not quite like yourself,

This is for you.

You don't need to carry what isn't yours.

If it feels okay,

Place one hand gently on your heart.

Let the other hand rest wherever is comfortable.

Breathe in slowly through your nose.

And breathe out through your nose like a soft ocean wave.

Again,

Breathe in and breathe out slow and steady.

You don't need to fix anything.

You're just creating a little space.

As you inhale,

Silently say,

I come back to myself.

As you exhale,

I let go of what isn't mine.

Inhale,

I come back to myself.

Exhale,

I let go of what isn't mine.

One more time,

I come back to myself.

Exhale,

I let go of what isn't mine.

If you've been around opinions,

Emotions,

Noise,

Or expectations,

Imagine them gently loosening from your body.

Not pushing them away,

Just allowing them to fall off.

You can still care,

You can still love,

You just don't have to absorb everything.

Breathe in and breathe out.

As you inhale,

Feel yourself steady inside your own body.

As you exhale,

Imagine a soft boundary around you.

Not a wall,

Not an armor,

Just clarity.

You're allowed to stay open without caring everyone else.

Inhale,

I am grounded.

Exhale,

I care.

Inhale,

I keep what's mine.

Exhale,

I release the rest.

Take one final slow breath.

And when you're ready,

Gently open your eyes or soften your gaze.

You can loop this if your body needs it.

Return to it anytime,

Or share it with someone who might need it.

We rise together.
