Welcome to this guided meditation for overcoming depression.

As someone who has suffered severe postnatal depression,

I can empathize what you're feeling in this moment.

You're not alone.

This meditation is purely designed for you today.

Finding a quiet and comfortable place where you can sit or lie down undisturbed for the next 10 minutes.

Allowing your body to relax and just letting go of any tension you may be holding on to.

Closing down your eyes and taking in a deep breath and then exhaling slowly.

Take a moment here to acknowledge your current state of mind.

Recognize that depression is a temporary state and you have the power to overcome it.

By engaging in this meditation,

You are taking a step towards your healing journey.

Now shift your focus to your breath.

By bringing your attention to your breath,

You're bringing yourself into the present moment.

Take a slow deep breath in through your nose and exhale slowly through your mouth.

Inhaling deeply here and exhale fully out.

Relaxing and softening your body with each breath out.

Releasing any tension or negative thoughts.

I want you now to envision as best as you can a soft golden light that's surrounding you.

Imagine this light is enveloping your beautiful body starting from the top of your head and slowly moving downwards.

Covering your neck,

Your shoulders,

Your chest,

Down through your arms and hands.

Moving this golden light down to your belly,

Your hips,

Your legs and finally reaching your feet.

This healing light penetrates deep into your being,

Filling you with warmth and love.

As you continue to breathe deeply,

Imagine this golden light expanding beyond your physical body,

Creating a space of tranquility and peace around you.

Allow yourself to bask in the gentle glow and embrace the soothing energy it provides.

I invite you now to bring your attention to your thoughts and emotions.

Acknowledge any feelings of sadness,

Fatigue or hopelessness that may be present.

Instead of resisting these feelings,

Allow them to just be.

Remember that it is okay to feel this way.

Imagine yourself and as an observer of your thoughts and emotions,

Not attaching yourself to them.

Just visualize them floating by like clouds in the sky,

Coming and going but not defining who you are.

Remind yourself that you are more than your thoughts and emotions.

Now bring your attention back here to your breath.

With each inhale,

Imagine you're breathing in positive energy and hope.

Feel this energy permeate every cell of your body,

Revitalizing and rejuvenating you from within.

With each exhale,

Release any negative energy,

Worry or self-doubt.

As you continue to breathe and visualize,

Repeat the following affirmations to yourself silently or out loud.

I am capable of overcoming depression.

I am deserving of happiness and peace.

I am stronger than my depression.

I choose to cultivate self-love and compassion.

I release the past and embrace the present moment.

I am surrounded by love and support.

I am resilient and capable of finding joy in life.

I am grateful.

I am grateful for the opportunities that lie ahead.

I forgive myself for any perceived shortcomings or mistakes.

I am deserving of a life filled with purpose and fulfillment.

As you repeat these affirmations,

Visualize them becoming a part of your being,

Empowering and uplifting your spirit.

Feel the truth and power of these words resonate within you.

And just rest here for a minute in this beautiful supportive light.

As our meditation starts coming to a close,

Taking a moment to express gratitude for this time you have dedicated to your well-being.

Trust in yourself and the journey of healing.

Whenever you are ready,

Just gently bring your awareness now back here to your surroundings,

Wiggling your fingers and toes and gently opening up your eyes.

And remember that this meditation is a tool for you to use whenever you need it.

Use it as a guiding light to help you navigate through moments of darkness.

You are not alone and with time and self-care you will find your way back to a place of peace and joy.
