I wish someone would have told me when I was lost,
When I was swimming in a sea of dark and anxious thoughts,
That my higher self was calling me to this place inside me so that I could come back home and learn how to soothe and nourish myself.
Breathe with me.
Inhale.
I'm aware of my in-breath.
Exhale.
I'm aware of my out-breath.
Find a comfortable seat,
Soft belly,
Strong spine.
Hands rest easy.
Eyes gently close.
Awareness of the breath at the nostrils,
The rising breath at the chest.
Awareness of the breath around your ribs and out of your lungs.
Let your awareness ride the wave of the breath wherever you feel it most naturally.
Your nostrils,
Your chest,
Your diaphragm,
Or your whole body.
Your body rising here with the in-breath,
Grounding down with the out-breath.
Letting your attention ride the wave of your breathing.
And as you breathe in and breathe out,
I want you to imagine that your mind is as vast as the ocean.
Where deep down beneath the surface,
It is calm and it is clear.
And from this deep place in the ocean,
You can look upwards towards the surface.
And no matter what is going on in your life,
No matter what those conditions are,
Deep here in the ocean,
It is calm and it is clear.
Inhale,
I'm aware of my in-breath.
Inhale,
I'm aware of my out-breath.
And sensing your breath allows you to access the depth of your mind as vast as the ocean.
Where from this deep peaceful place,
You can look upwards at the waves on the surface.
The waves that are the thoughts and emotions and conditions of your mind.
Can you notice all those fleeting thoughts,
The emotions that are just there at the surface?
They come and they grow.
Just like these waves at the surface of the ocean,
Coming and going.
Sensing your breath here,
Inhale,
I'm aware of my in-breath.
Exhale,
I'm aware of my out-breath.
Sensing your breath,
Bringing you back to this peaceful place.
Feeling the depth here of your mind.
When darkness comes or fear,
Then gently noting,
Hello,
Anxiety,
You're welcome here.
And then letting it go,
And then redirect your attention back here to your breath.
Inhale,
I'm aware of my in-breath.
Exhale,
I'm aware of my out-breath.
This is your sanctuary.
This is home,
The deepest part of your centre,
Where you can sense these thoughts as just thoughts,
Where nothing can hurt you.
This is your authentic place and the comfortable place where you can live from.
Breathing in,
I'm aware of my in-breath.
Breathing out,
I'm aware of my out-breath.
Whenever you feel like you are running from feelings of anxiety,
Turn inward.
Use your breath,
Return to yourself where you can be free from worry and our stories.
You are loved.
You are exactly where you need to be.
You are enough.
And now when you're ready,
You can let your eyes open.
May you bring this same quality of kind awareness to the rest of your day,
Feeling relaxed in your mind,
Heart,
Body and spirit.
Namaste.
Namaste.
