Have you been feeling overwhelmed or tired? If so, I would like to invite you to join me on a "mini beach vacation". This short guided meditation will give you a much needed break and leave you feeling ready to take on the rest of your busy day (or perhaps scrolling Expedia for flights!).

Have you been feeling stressed or overwhelmed today?

If the answer is yes,

Then I have a little treat for you.

This is a few minutes in the middle of your day that you can take to just close your eyes and come away from all of that stress.

If you like,

You can keep your eyes open or close them.

I just want you to find a quiet space and start by taking a few deep breaths in through your nose and out through your mouth.

Maybe sighing them out in through the nose and exhale.

Inhale again into your nose,

Feeling the air expand your lungs,

Maybe your belly,

And then a long slow breath out.

Imagine that you are standing on a beautiful,

Sunny beach.

The sand stretches out for miles around you.

It's warm under your feet and you can hear the sound of gentle waves caressing the shore creating a soothing melody just coming in and out.

You can feel the heat from the sun warming your skin and it feels like a gentle embrace and a gentle breeze cools the skin and carries away any worries or stress that you might be experiencing right now.

As you stand on the beach and look out onto the horizon,

Visualize the burden of stress and all the demands on your time as tangible weights on your shoulders.

Maybe that makes you tense up a little bit,

Thinking about all the things you have to do,

The deadlines that you have to meet,

The people who you've promised to help,

And how you just have so little time for all of that right now.

Then I would like you to visualize that that weight from your shoulders is lifting off and floating away just like a white wispy cloud going out onto the horizon and then dissipating.

Now you're left feeling lighter,

More relaxed,

With a sense of ease.

Now I'd like you to imagine,

From deep within you,

Golden threads emerging from your core and spreading out so that this golden light and energy is filling your body,

Your torso,

Your arms and legs,

Up into your head.

These golden threads are self-care and self-compassion and overall health and well-being.

Just watch or imagine as these tendrils of light intertwine around you and form this protective cocoon where you're safe and no worries can penetrate that shield of the light that's being created within you.

Then I'd like you to imagine a peaceful wave washing onto the shore.

This wave represents the ebb and the flow of the challenges and experiences that you have in your life.

With each wave coming in and washing out,

Imagine that the water is cleansing you of any stress or fatigue,

Leaving you feeling refreshed and renewed.

And then imagine that golden light starting from within your body,

Starting to stretch out and you're beginning to glow.

There's this golden aura surrounding you.

And you can think of that as your personal space or your boundaries.

And this golden light is strong,

Resilient,

And under your control.

Just breathe into your body and sense the power within you to set boundaries that protect your peace and well-being.

As you look around the beach and you can see the palm trees swaying in the breeze,

Affirm your sense of self and worth by repeating in your head,

I am deserving of love.

I am deserving of care.

And I am deserving of happiness.

I am enough just as I am right here and right now.

Feel those affirmations within you,

Filling you with a sense of self-acceptance,

Self-worth,

Peace,

And groundedness.

Now I'd like you to picture a small lantern within you.

And this represents the need to please other people.

I'd like you to gently pull that lantern out from inside your torso and gently release it.

Let it go.

And watch that lantern float up into the open sky,

Transforming into bright rays of light that carry away the need to go out of your way and please other people,

To make sure that everything is done perfectly to prove your worth.

You don't need that anymore.

You are enough just as you are.

And you are deserving of peace,

Calm,

And happiness.

Return back to the beach.

Take a deep breath in.

And as you breathe out,

Feel the vitality and the life force within you in this tranquil setting.

You're still on the beach,

Surrounded by a warm,

Healing light.

And the light bathes you in its calming,

Rejuvenating energy,

Soothing your mind and your body.

Now I'd like you to bring your focus back to your breath,

Feeling the rhythm of your breath.

Inhaling into your chest and abdomen,

And gently letting it go through your mouth or through your nose.

Inhaling through the nose,

And exhaling remaining grounded and anchored in the present moment,

Feeling at peace.

And when you're ready,

You can flutter your eyes open,

Taking with you this sense of calm and newfound empowerment.

Remember that you have the strength and the resources to navigate the demands of your busy life while still prioritizing your well-being.

If you like,

You can carry this peaceful beach visualization with you to help counter any stress or feelings of overwhelm with you into your day,

So that you can foster a sense of inner peace and self-compassion.
