When you look into a window, you can see two things. Do you know what they are? Use this visual concept as a reminder to look through the window as opposed to focusing on your own reflection. When you become interested in the pure present moment, you forget the stories you tell yourself about the present moment that actually pull you into ideas of the past and future. When you become genuinely interested in what's happening right now, it is always new and surprising. It is Just This. And it is a great relief.

When you look into a window,

There are two things you can see.

Do you know what they are?

When you look into a window,

You either see through or you see your own reflection looking back at you,

Depending on your focus.

You are constantly looking into a window and either see through or you see your own reflection,

Depending on your focus.

You are either interested in what you see or worried about being interesting in the eyes of others.

This is a sort of bifocal psychic vision and we can shift between the two,

Though we don't know exactly how we do it.

The body just has this ability.

In any moment you can decide,

Am I looking through the window or am I focusing on my own reflection?

Am I judging what I see based on the story of my life or am I just seeing or hearing or feeling,

Tasting what's actually just right here in front of me and all around me right now?

In any moment you can notice where your focus is and if you want to,

You can shift your psychic vision to become interested rather than interesting.

You can always become genuinely interested in looking through the window because what's here is always brand new.

If only I could see it and when I'm willing to look through the window,

It's kind of funny I give others the chance to actually see me too.

So what do you see?

The concept of looking throug vs seeing my reflection is an excellent grounding tool for me as I practice being present throughout my day.

Interesting, contemplative thoughts. Although, I could do without the background music.

Spot on and actually very profound. Interested or interesting 🤔 I prefer the former.

This was amazing as I was leaving in the car and I could see my reflection and a beautiful group of fall trees while the wind blew leafs around and around.I became interested in the wind, the leafs, the trees and was in the present moment immediately. Thank you.

Well that 3 minutes gave me enough to keep me curious for the next year or two. I'll get back to you on that...!

I see beauty. The colors and there’s a prism of light . 🌈 thank you Charles for the reminder .. it’s all what you choose to focus on .💜

Love this. Focus on being “interested” in what is here now instead of striving to be “interesting.” This is a powerful and useful tool to shift perspective. Thank you.
