We often know the answers we're looking for if we will only stop and truly listen. Sometimes we just need a little space and silence to hear our own inner wisdom. Here is that space and silence. In this practice, we will go through a 4-step progression to help access the intuition of body and mind.

Welcome.

Now we'll go through four steps here.

Very simple.

The first will be a step of just being.

The second will be a step of checking in with the body.

The third will be a step of checking in with the mind.

And the fourth will return to the first,

Dropping back into just being.

So here you can feel free to allow the eyes to close.

Maybe taking a few deep breaths or just allowing the breath to breathe however it wants to.

And so in this first step we will just take one minute to simply be.

No need to do anything.

Just being exactly as you are and allowing the present moment to be exactly as it is.

For one minute of your whole life,

Starting now.

Okay,

And now let's shift into the second step.

Checking in with the body.

Noticing if the body is holding on in any particular way or is clenching or flexing.

Possibly allowing the body to relax.

Allowing the heart to beat.

Allowing the breath to breathe.

And you might ask the body if there's anything it would like.

Or maybe anything it would like more of or maybe less of.

Okay,

And now shifting to the mind.

Allowing the mind to do whatever it might like to do.

Allowing it to think whatever it might like to think.

And maybe asking the mind what would it like more of or less of.

Maybe it's less judgment,

Less comparison.

More compassion,

More creativity,

More play.

Whatever it might like.

Okay,

And now let's take the fourth and final step.

Just dropping back into being for one more minute.

For one minute of your whole life,

Starting now.

Okay,

And you might just take a few more deep breaths here.

And gradually,

If your eyes were closed,

You can allow them to reopen just whenever they want to.

Thank you for your time and your attention.

And on behalf of your body and mind for listening to yourself for a little while here.

Hope you have a great rest of your day or your evening.

I like meditations that strike a balance between guidance and space to simply be. This meditation hits the sweet spot. I liked being asked to check what my mind wants. It reminded me that I am not my mind. Thank you Charles.

The 4 steps in this process are easy to remember, easy to practice, and exactly what I needed when I needed it. Thank you!

This has become my favourite guided process, first thing - easy to slot into each hour throughout the day. Helps me to focus. Simple 1 minute guided focus... on x4 on; being, body, thoughts, being rest, notice, think, relax Actions - focus - intentions - thought - rest/meditate - also great for journal prompts.

A beautiful session Charles. I listened to it first thing in my morning meditation ritual. Great way to enter the day with stillness and presence. Could also see this as a great mid day reset and definitely away to wind down the evening. Thank you.

That was remarkably freeing…loosely constructed…no effort needed…space was created so easily for each of the areas highlighted. Loved it.

My favorite track out of the hundreds I’ve heard. I think I’ll make it a practice to start every day with this one, at least until it’s a habit to listen to myself.

I appreciate the four-part structure of this practice and found my body and mind eager to answer my questions. It’s a welcome reminder to let go of self-imposed pressures, and turn instead to trust. Starting… now
