Welcome to a quick,
Easy check-in where you can gently tune in to what you're feeling and what you need in this moment.
Wherever you are,
Wherever you may be,
Take a moment to be still.
Let your eyes close.
Feel your feet on the ground.
Or if you're sitting,
Feel the floor or the earth beneath your body.
Start to notice your breathing.
Just start there.
Learn to check in through starting with your breath.
From whatever your breathing pattern,
See if you can lengthen it just a little bit.
Good.
Let your eyelids soften and feel a little heavier.
And start to take some cleansing breaths in through the nose.
Gently releasing the breath.
Keep it nice,
Long and steady.
Keep this deep ashiakha breath going.
Breathing in through the nose.
Exhaling in a nice and full way.
And while you breathe,
Just for another moment or two,
Start to ask yourself,
What do I need?
What do I need?
Over and over.
Until your subconscious or conscious mind gently gives you a prompting.
What do I need?
Take a few more moments.
Repeat the question.
Don't force any kind of answer.
And just begin to pay attention to any thoughts that pop in,
Any words,
Or any sensation in the body.
Learn to check in and reset your system by simply figuring out and determining what you need in a given moment.
This is a way of self-mothering or parenting.
This is a way of self-nurturing and creating compassion for ourselves.
What you might need here as you breathe is a hug,
Is a glass of water,
Some fresh air,
A peaceful environment,
Or simply a chance to relax.
Once you have your answer,
You can take steps to incorporate whatever it is that you need in the next little while.
Don't put pressure on yourself to accomplish this immediately.
Just feel gratitude that you took the time to do that check in.
Affirming to yourself that you have needs and giving yourself permission to validate them and to know that they are important.
Take another breath in.
And this time we'll exhale through the mouth.
Beautiful.
Let's do that again.
Take another breath in.
And a long slow exhale through the mouth.
Welcome back to you.
