Find a comfortable position.
Noticing what feels good to you today.
Noticing if you'd like to sit or lie back.
And imagine that you have this opportunity,
That you've been given this opportunity to rest.
That this present,
This gift has been handed to you for the body to rest,
The mind to rest,
The emotions to rest,
Your energy to rest,
And your spirit to rest.
You have permission to rest,
To relax into a place of receiving for yourself in a place of not doing.
As you have this permission,
You might take a look around and notice if there's something that would help deepen the rest.
Let's first begin with the physical body.
If there is something that would help your body relax more,
A different position,
Or even just imagining that you're resting on a cloud,
Or next to a babbling brook,
Or by the ocean.
Just notice if there's something that would help you relax even more.
Take a deep breath in.
And slowly exhale.
And then notice if there are any thoughts or beliefs that crowd up around you,
Like small children wanting attention.
And set them aside.
They are well taken care of,
Just not by you right now.
Set them in a beautiful space,
Just off to the side,
Whichever feels right for you.
And come back to your own mind.
Tell yourself it's okay to rest.
And then checking in with your emotional body.
Notice any emotions that may be present.
Any sadness or grief or joy or excitement,
Just notice them.
And two,
Invite them to rest.
To be in stillness.
That they too are well taken care of,
But not by you.
Not right now.
You may notice different sensations in your body that go along with those emotions.
And that's okay,
Just notice them.
You can even say,
I see you.
I feel you.
I hear you.
Take a nice deep breath in.
And slowly exhale.
And now check in with your energetic body.
And if you aren't sure what that is,
Just set the intention that you will allow the energetic body to rest.
That it doesn't have to continue working while your physical body is resting.
That it too can sit back and relax.
That it can let the soothing space that you're in rock it and hold it.
With great love and compassion.
The energetic body can be smooth and soothed.
Just imagining that this light part of our body,
Just like you would gently pet a cat or a dog,
Just allowing that movement to soothe the energetic body.
And then moving your attention to the spiritual body.
This combination of all of our soul essences and experiences and our connection with source energy.
Just allowing that energy to also rest.
There doesn't have to be an efforting or a movement that's necessary.
Just an opportunity to rest.
And then bringing your attention to the breath.
Breathing in through the nose.
Exhaling slowly.
As you allow all five of these bodies to rest.
So that you can experience a deeper rest.
An integrated and holistic rest.
So that your entire being can release and relax.
Releasing anything that is no longer needed.
Receiving all the benefits of rest.
And then taking one last long slow deep inhalation and exhalation.
Wiggling your fingers and toes.
Feeling that all of your wellness bodies,
All of these bodies,
The physical,
Mental,
Emotional,
Energetic and spiritual are all coming back together.
Exhaling,
Rejuvenating and ready to start the day.
