This is Rebecca Schisler Marshall and this is a mini rest session on dealing with fear.

So lie back or sit back and get comfortable.

Begin to bring awareness to your body.

Notice how you're feeling.

Notice any sensations of tightness or tension in the body and just lovingly hold those sensations.

They can be present.

They can be there.

And you can bring acceptance to them.

See if there's any way that you need to move or shift or change to get really comfortable.

And now as you relax,

Bring to mind a situation that elicits fear in your body,

In your heart,

In your awareness.

Notice where you feel the fear.

Notice the intensity of it.

Notice the size,

The location.

See if you're able to stay with this sensation.

Breathing,

Getting really curious about that physical sensation.

Is there tightness or tension?

And as you notice that physical sensation,

As you become aware of it,

Invite in a younger part of yourself that may need some help,

A younger part of you that is struggling that feels fear.

Invite her in.

Imagine that she's sitting next to you.

Maybe she's sitting next to you on a park bench.

Maybe she's sitting on your lap.

Maybe you're snuggled up with her.

Notice how old she is and ask her what she needs.

Maybe she needs to be a little bit further away or maybe she needs to be a little closer.

Listen to what she's asking for and as best you can,

Do that.

And as you are with her,

You can tell her it's okay to be afraid.

It's okay to feel fear.

It's okay to be scared.

And I know this does not feel good.

And that's okay.

But as you are with her,

You can feel the fear of her being with you.

This adult wise part of you is with the younger part of you.

Giving her all of the love and attention she needs and craves in this moment.

In this moment where she is really fearful.

It doesn't matter the reason.

Just being with her is what's important.

See if there's something that she needs to hear in this moment.

Something reassuring.

It is safe in this moment.

I'm with you no matter what.

We'll figure it out together.

Or I love you no matter what.

See if you can find one that feels like it lands for that young part of you.

And notice how she feels.

Ask her what she needs.

Does she need to go hide away somewhere?

Be taken to a different location?

Maybe your younger self is trying to do this really big scary adult thing.

And it's really not her job.

Maybe that part of you was conditioned to believe that she had to do really adult things when she was young.

She doesn't have to look for the job.

She doesn't have to deal with the irate client.

She doesn't have to deal with even parents or loved ones.

See if there's a place or an activity that she would like to go that would feel safe.

Loving,

Supportive.

Maybe even fun.

Could be out by the creek in the woods.

On a playground.

Picking flowers in a meadow.

A beloved teacher's house or grandparent's house.

See where she would like to go.

And invite her to that space.

That place that feels safe for her.

And thank her for all that she's done for you in your life.

Thank her for her strength,

For her courage,

For getting you here to today.

And knowing that you can connect with her at any point in time,

Anytime you need to,

And that she can come to you.

Clearing any energetic connections that need to be cleared so that she can be safe in that spot.

The guides come in and clear that energy.

So that she can rest or play or whatever it is that she needs,

Read.

Notice that.

And then saying goodbye for now.

Taking a nice,

Long,

Slow,

Deep breath.

Going back to feeling your body,

Noticing any sensations that are in your body.

Noticing your toes,

Your feet,

Your legs,

Your fingers and arms.

Stretching and moving to wake up the physical body again.

Or if you would like,

Drifting off to sleep.

Take good care of yourself.

Thank you for this meditation. It truly resonated with me. I am 61 years old and lost my mother to cancer when I was 16. The child in me appeared as a 14 year old, the age I was when she was diagnosed. I had to grow up fast and did not know how to grieve her in a healthy way as most people didn't way back then. I had to figure it out on my own. Wise me said to 14 yo: "I got you. Let's go to the Fair and go on your favorite ride together . 🥹

I have had a recent accident that makes breathing meditations very painful. This was a perfect moment of respite for me.
