Inglehart and I'm really glad you're joining me in this series of five days to create a productive and peaceful work from home experience.
Now whether you have made a career choice and you've decided to work from home or you are in quarantine because of a pandemic and thus are now working from home,
I'm glad that we'll be able to create some structure,
Some motivation,
And some productivity this week.
I am a composer and songwriter so I love alliteration so I've chosen a word that starts with C for every single day this week,
Today being the clear day.
Tomorrow is create,
The next day is collect,
Then it's campaign,
And then finally connect.
So let's start by taking a deep breath in and breathing out.
We'll do one more,
Think about breathing in all as well and breathing out all as well,
Passing that along into the universe.
So today,
The word being clear,
We're going to focus on what we can remove or release in order to make space for something that's going to serve us.
Clearing is not necessarily just cleaning.
There are several areas of your life,
We'll talk about four of them in particular,
Where we can look at clearing.
The first one is physical.
In the physical space,
What can you clear out?
And maybe that means clearing out germs,
Actually cleaning your surfaces and washing doorknobs and all those things.
Maybe it's doing laundry or cleaning that closet you've wanted to get to,
Or maybe there's a pile of papers you need to file or a bunch of clutter you just need to start to put into boxes to donate later.
Whatever it is in your physical space that you've looked at and said,
Oh,
There's a little black cloud over that area,
That might be the first thing to tackle.
The second area of your life where you can start to clear is in your digital spaces.
That might mean emptying your inbox or at least taking a stab at reducing it.
That could mean organizing your desktop,
Creating some folders so that you can put files in those folders and then work on clearing those folders.
You can also work on clearing some storage on your phone,
Your computer and any external drives.
And of course,
You can name files and screenshots that don't have names to them and put those in the right places.
The third area of your life where you can clear is in relationship.
You can look at relationships where you may need to put some boundaries in place instead of hanging out with a friend after work every single day.
Maybe you just say,
Let's just meet on Friday and then you check in over text.
Maybe there's a toxic relationship that you need to distance yourself from or perhaps just a conversation you need to have with someone so that you're clear and they're clear that you're both getting something out of the relationship.
If there is one of those relationships that's really draining on you,
It can sometimes be very hard to talk about and hard to make a request to shift the relationship.
But if you're able to do that,
It's a beautiful release for you.
It's going to give you so much more energy back.
The last way we'll talk about clearing is in your own mind.
Now I know that you're here listening to this,
So you're pretty much there.
You're aware that there's something you can do for yourself to say,
How can I bring more peace and more calm into my life?
What are the stories I tell myself throughout the day that are just not true,
That are bringing me down,
That are stressing me out?
What are the things that I do that are not serving me anymore in my own mind,
For my own peace of mind?
Where can you clear some of that out so that you are feeling grounded,
Productive,
And motivated for the majority of the day?
So what I would encourage you to do right now is to not try to tackle all four of these categories,
The physical,
The digital,
The relationship,
And the mindfulness,
But maybe pick two that you want to actually take a specific action around.
Whatever the action is,
Just tackle it with a vengeance,
Focus in on it,
And know that you're going to feel great by the end of the day having done this.
We want to be really intentional about what we fill this new space with.
So tomorrow is going to be a day all about create.
And again,
If you're listening to this for the second or third or even fourth week in a row,
Just know that you can come up with different things that are in the same category and just keep releasing,
Keep releasing,
Keep creating,
And we'll be just rising our vibrations every single week because of this habit that we're building of structure and productivity.
