Hello and welcome.

To get started,

I suggest you lie down in Shavasana or corpse pose with your head supported by a small pillow and something under your knees for back support.

Take a few moments,

Get as comfortable as possible.

Stretch your legs.

Pull your shoulder blades in so your arms and hands fall comfortably to your side.

And try to keep your body still for the rest of the practice.

Your body is the gateway to your soul.

Your body is always in the present moment and your body experiences life in the most direct way possible.

Tibetan Buddhism and yoga teach that the most effective way to reach ultimate freedom is through the body and so we practice from within.

So let's begin with three deep breaths and really enjoy them.

With each exhale,

Feel your whole body begin to relax as if your body is slowly deflating with each exhalation.

Each exhale,

More deflation,

More relaxation.

And then become aware of the body just breathing itself,

The breath returning to normal.

We'll now scan the entire body.

As I name various body parts,

Feel into them without thinking,

Without visualizing,

Only sensing.

Feel them as a radiant sensation like the rays of the sun.

No need to try to relax.

Relaxation will come with sensing.

Sensing with the inside of the mouth,

The ceiling,

The floor of the mouth,

The walls,

Left and right,

The back of the throat,

The tongue.

Let go of any tension in the jaw.

No thinking,

No visualizing,

Just sensation.

And sense into the left ear and the right ear.

Both ears together.

Your nose,

The left nostril,

The right nostril,

The flow of air creating sensation inside both nostrils.

Move up to the eyes,

The left eye,

The right eye,

And the eyebrows,

The forehead,

Only sensing,

The top of the head,

The back of the head,

Down to the neck,

Inside of the throat.

Now the entire head as radiant sensation,

Radiating outward in all directions.

Now move down to the left shoulder,

The left upper arm,

Elbow,

Forearm,

Palm of the left hand,

Thumb,

And all four fingers.

The entire left hand and arm as radiant sensation.

Now the right shoulder,

Right upper arm,

Elbow,

Forearm,

Palm of the right hand,

Thumb,

And all four fingers.

The entire right hand and arm as radiant sensation.

The upper chest area,

Middle of the chest.

Felt sensation of the heart beating,

The lungs expanding and contracting.

Down into the belly,

Around to the entire back of the torso,

The entire front of the torso,

The entire torso inside and out,

Down to the pelvis,

The left hip,

Left buttocks,

Left thigh,

Knee,

Calf,

Ankle,

The left foot and toes.

The entire left foot,

Left leg,

And hip as radiant sensation.

The right hip and buttocks,

Right thigh,

Knee,

Calf,

Ankle,

Right foot and toes.

The entire right foot,

Leg,

And hip.

And feel both legs simultaneously.

Sensation radiating outward,

Beyond the physical body.

And now the entire front of the body,

Entire back of the body,

Left side of the body,

Right side of the body,

Both legs,

Both arms,

The head.

The entire body is an orb of radiant sensation.

The entire body radiating sensation outward in all directions,

Above the head,

Below the feet,

In front of the body,

And in back of the body,

Inside and outside.

Now become aware of the body breathing itself,

The natural flow of air entering and exiting the body.

And bring attention to the breath in the left nostril.

And expand your attention so you're aware of sensations in the left side of the body as well.

From the toes to the head.

On your next inhalation,

Breathe in through the sole of the foot and all the way up to the left side of the body.

And hold the breath for just a moment.

Then exhale air into the right side of the body,

All the way down to the sole of the right foot.

Then inhale through the sole of the right foot,

All the way up the right side of the body,

And hold again.

And exhale into the left side of the body,

And out through the left foot.

Continue in this manner at your own pace.

Exhaling up one side,

Exhaling down the other.

Let go of any thinking.

Just sense the body and the breath.

And now release control of the breath.

The body breathing itself once again.

And allow silence to pervade your entire being,

Just being.

And now,

Sense into your heart.

Just be with whatever is present in your heart.

Letting your heart be open,

With perhaps a sense of gratitude.

Perhaps a moment of joy,

Or purity of being.

Be with it just as it is.

Almost like the heart warming,

Or even melting.

Like an inner smile spreading throughout your entire body.

A sense of joy,

Or love,

Or just a sense of being.

Let all sensations melt into the feeling of joy itself.

Maybe a little smile on your face.

Now experience how the thought of I AM arises in the mind.

Maybe your name,

Or something you identify with.

Something like I am a teacher,

Or I am a bus driver,

I am a mother.

Maybe you strongly identify with a particular passion or talent.

I am an artist,

Or an athlete.

Start repeating that I AM something thought silently to yourself,

Over and over.

And now begin to move that I AM something thought as a sensation,

Down from the head,

And into the heart.

Feel it residing in your heart space.

Now drop the identity associated with that thought,

And allow the sensation of just I AM to settle into the heart.

Just I AM,

I AM,

I AM.

Residing in the heart as a feeling or sensation.

And next,

Give up the AM.

Let it drop away.

So there is only the sensation of I,

I,

Residing in the heart,

Over and over.

And now allow the I thought to fade away.

The I thought dissolving into pure awareness that is always here before any thought arises.

Give up any thinking,

Experiencing yourself as pure awareness.

Pure presence.

Pure being.

Before the I thought arises and thinking starts.

Residing in pure awareness,

Which is before and after all thought,

Emotion,

Or sensation.

And silently answer this question.

What time is it?

Don't think about it.

Just sense it.

What time is it?

And does this open awareness you're feeling have a beginning or an end in time?

Or is it timeless?

See with this feeling of timelessness.

And once again,

Feel into the whole body as pure sensation.

Let any thinking or analyzing just feel.

How does this sense of timelessness feel in your body?

Just rest in this open awareness,

This timelessness.

What time is it?

Is a time when you can discover yourself as the ever-present background of pure awareness in which all of life is unfolding.

It teaches us how to give up our identification with all that is arising and recognizing how awareness,

Which can also be called being or our true nature,

Is always here as the background in which everything you are experiencing arises,

Unfolds,

And dissolves,

Ever-present since your first memory.

When you feel complete and ready,

Let your body and mind begin to come back to its awake,

Alert state,

Starting with a greater awareness of the room and your surroundings,

And eventually bringing small movements to the body.

Thanks again.

Www.

Mooji.
