We so often live in our minds, cluttered with thoughts of “I should be somewhere else” or “something is missing from my life,” but what if we dropped down from the mind and into the heart, began noticing how we were truly feeling, began noticing whether we allow ourselves to not only give love, but also accept it freely? Knowing that it is infinite? So, how can you use this time to create from your young heart? Call a friend. Create something. Write. Draw. Paint. Without thinking.

Welcome.

And please find a comfortable seat.

If you have a pillow nearby,

Maybe bring it under your hips so that they're elevated over your knees.

Bring your hands into your lap or gently resting on your knees.

Close your eyes.

I recently partook in a Mayan fire ceremony in Guatemala where the Maya priest spoke a few words that really sank deeply into me.

He said to enjoy life we must have a young heart,

We must joke more,

Smile more,

Ask more questions.

How simple does that sound?

Yet we so often live in our minds cluttered with thoughts of I should be somewhere else or something is missing from my life.

But what if we dropped down from the mind and into the heart,

Began noticing how we were truly feeling,

Began noticing whether we allow ourselves to not only give love but also accept it freely,

Knowing that it is infinite.

So how can you use this time to create from your young heart?

Call a friend,

A lover.

Create something,

Write,

Draw,

Paint without thinking.

But in order to truly tune into the heart and do what feels right,

We must first slow down and declutter the mind.

So take a deep breath in through your nose,

Feel your belly expand,

Maybe hold it at the top for three,

Two,

One,

Exhale through your nose,

Squeeze your navel towards your spine,

Really feel empty,

Maybe hold it at the bottom and inhale through your nose,

Fill up,

Exhale,

Release.

Maybe start to notice if you're holding any tension in your body,

You soften your shoulders,

Unclench your jaw,

Remove your tongue from the roof of your mouth,

Maybe bring a gentle smile to your lips,

A gentle smile to your eyes.

Where can you soften?

Maybe imagine each breath like a wave washing away any tension in your body.

Inhale deeply and then as you exhale,

Soften your shoulders,

Soften your face,

Feel the earth beneath you support you.

If your mind wanders off,

Bring it back to your breath,

Watching the air go in and out.

Can you feel fully supported in this moment?

And trust that you are exactly where you're meant to be.

Every emotion is sent to you to teach you a lesson,

Frustration,

Fear,

Joy,

Sadness.

So rather than resisting how you're feeling,

Try and just accept it and know that it will pass like a wave.

It comes and then goes.

And know that in order to feel true joy and bliss,

You must also be able to feel deep sadness.

So just notice however you're feeling in this moment.

Be grateful that to feel anything at all means that you're alive.

You're worthy of being here.

Worthy of being loved.

Open your breath.

Nearly builds.

Trap.
